About-
This was a personal project that I was excited about, which originally wasn't going to be
much. I wasn't even going to post the project but new ideas sparked and I focused on the town aspect of it more so
the ideas I originally had.
-The name Fornix is actually a part of the brain, which seemed like a logical choice of name for the project.
-The project is currently missing the storyline, but that will be in a separate update(wink wink, a download of 40% of the city map, Desino Aetas)
-Fornix was originally planned to be highly fantasy, very whacky looking with mushrooms and things of that nature, but I thought that was a cliche concept of a dream. I wanted to create what I was in the mood for, and this is the clear result of that.
-If you're interested in my influences for a project like this, I was inspired by various things such as : Gothic lolita styles, classical styles, traverse town from kingdom hearts had a lot of influence(probably the most noticeable!)
Generally when I work on a project though, I am building off of ideas in my head, creating what I visualize. it's a fairly personal thing.
Lore-
Upon consumption of the pill 'Zerothus' , said to constructively recreate memories, the traveler enters a lucid state of mind.
The pill is able to set the consumer into an entirely new experience of reality, a new reality in which is just as real as the one you leave. The pill is claimed to be a 'gift' from the goddess Concordia, a goddess of harmonious flow.
As the traveler enters this dream world, he does not know what to believe, or what to consider false and fantasy.
The traveler looks around him, as he breathes heavily, the air is filled with static and every dust particle in the air is very noticeable with a glowing essence. There are arrays of patterns around him, flowing around and through him stimulating his vision. He does not know how to walk properly in this dimension, his legs wobble and the visual patterns intimidate him.
Whilst meandering the void of this new world, he comes across a pathway that diverges into two separate directions.
There is a sign in the middle, on the left it reads "Mind", and on the right, "Love". The traveler was confused by the signs, and speculated the outcome of his choice; if he were to take the path of mind versus love. The thoughts started swallowing him, entrapping him in anxiety.
After much consideration of the two paths, the traveler took the path on the left. The path does not go too far, but leads to a dark mysterious cave, which appeared to have light deep inside of it. He walked into the cave, following the light's transcendental body. The light appeared to be coming from a glowing message in the cave, and the message read,
"To take the path of mind, one is to contemplate all possibilities and commence into a void of infinite wheels. Infinite alternatives, never ending decisions, fractals of reality unwinding within themselves. It this choice of path that you shall choke in the reality of infinite potentiality." With the message on the cavern wall hindering the traveler of thought, he stands in a complete state of shock.
With his eyes closed shut, standing there in complete silence, it ushers his body to a new warmth, a new primal state of thought; the heart. With this grand revelation, he leaves the cavern to take the path on the right. As he walks the path of love, he arrives to walls of what seems to be a town or village. As he continues on the path, he reaches the entrance, and on a sign it reads, "Welcome to Fornix."

-I used the plugins VoxelSniper and World Edit to help in the construction of the project
