Please let me know if you would be interested in contributing to the building! I am sure that the monastery will be finished a lot sooner with help, and I know lots of you are passionate FE fans, so any support would be appreciated.
The current progress includes:
Yes, of course I am aware that many other people have begun Garreg Mach recreation projects, and in some cases have even finished building the whole map. I have to admire the effort that has gone into each of these projects, and I would support public releases of them fully, but I still feel justified in beginning my own project, for a number of reasons.

- A lack of downloadable maps - I have been unable to find a single downloadable Garreg Mach, even unfinished, despite the great number of builders working on them.
- Scale - ideally I believe that Garreg Mach should feel consistent with its original depiction in scale, so that the map feels at home in Minecraft, or else it will be less fun to walk around.
- Detail - as time goes on, we are all fortunate enough to have access to more recent blocks and building techniques as new Minecraft updates release. Recent updates in particular have introduced useful blocks like candles and copper, which I hope will make it easier to portray Garreg Mach's medieval setting more faithfully. In addition, while I don't consider myself a particularly skilled builder, I have the support of capable friends to bounce ideas off of, and as a result I hope to be able to maintain a high attention to detail.
- Following - As a skin creator who posts primarily Fire Emblem skins, I know that my following is interested in seeing Garreg Mach reach completion, and there is the possibility of group work or even an open project here as a result.
- Why not? - It shouldn't matter if multiple people release their own interpretations of Garreg Mach Monastery. I am sure that each one will have areas where it is unique and will be preferred by some people over another interpretation.

4 Update Logs
Update #4 - Reception Hall, Officers' Academy, Knights' Hall, Rhea's Balcony : by fire emblem man yes 04/11/2024 2:30:30 pmApr 11th, 2024
Once again, apologies for the long wait. However, since the last update I have completed the Reception Hall and built the Officers' Academy (including the classrooms) the Knights' Hall, the third floor balcony and the exterior of the Sauna. With this, the exterior parts of the monastery are almost complete. I would recommend redownloading the map to get a better picture of everything that has changed.
This leaves the cathedral and the tournament grounds, as well as many of the interior areas like the second floor rooms, remaining dorms and potentially Abyss.
I hope you enjoy seeing everything that has been added!

My phrase: "And remember, take your time, relax, and enjoy."
I really enjoy the various details that have been spread around in the dormitories for each character, Linhardt's room is so messy lol. Keep up the good work, will be very excited once the progress has been completed.
Also, Abyss will be added too at some point or were you not really thinking about that?
Doing each of the students' dorm rooms was fun, it's a mixture of details which were already in the game and smaller choices of my own. I think some characters have a different profession block to match their interests. I couldn't believe how messy some of their rooms were, especially some of the things they leave around - why is Ferdinand's floor covered in armour?
I'm not opposed to building Abyss, and practically it should be fine, it would just involve carving a large area out underneath the map and teleporting the player, which I've already done for a lot of interiors since they don't line up with the exterior models in Three Houses either. Let's just see if I ever finish the cathedral first.
I can probably try to use some of the texture packs in the marketplace to see how pretty it looks, along with some add-ons too.
I have been screwing around with the Sonic add-on lol, it feels very funky but at least I can run around with some good speed, unfortunately running causes some leaves and flowers to break :( even when I turn off the setting to allow the blocks to break.
I also saw the little bits of things in the village that spawned.
1. As I have finished all the interiors, I have moved on to the cathedral. I generated a rough shape for this using new software that converts 3D geometry to Minecraft blocks. I can't remember exactly what I used at the moment, but it gave a usable basic shape which I have been fixing up by hand.
2. With the build so close to completion, I have spent a lot of time thinking about additional work I can do to make it look nicer on its own merits as a Minecraft build, not just as a recreation. I've been experimenting with using different blocks to create the illusion of lighting. It's quite difficult to get it right, but it's definitely had a positive effect on parts of the build.
I haven't worked on anything in a few months because, as usual, other things come first. That said, there's really not much left before the build is functionally complete! I still want to make it look as good as it can though.
Here are some pictures!
You're welcome to rebuild this in survival as long as you link back to the project. Just be aware that, as the map is approaching completion, I'm looking back on my older builds to see if I can improve them by using different blocks and texturing techniques, which might make it more difficult to build in survival. There are also details made with tools that aren't available in survival, like invisible item frames and custom block states, so you might want to change some things around depending on what's available to you.
I'll see if I can update the world link soon, but I like to take new screenshots so people can see what's new, so it might take some time. If you would like an updated copy earlier to copy schematics from, just let me know. I'll respond sooner on any of the socials on my profile.
