Perfect for your own pirate cove. Don't remember where I got the 3D model, but do remember that it was from a CAT scan. Took about a week to handbuild even with INVEdit. Teeth didn't translate well to binvox, but I think it makes it look more like a natural feature. All done in sandstone, died a few times when I got to cloud level. Inside is hollow and perfect for a hideout if one were inclined. Saw someone else had put up a large skull model earlier, but I think theirs was different enough to warrant two versions. Found jutdragon's skull. His wasn't the one I saw earlier (that one was smaller). Some differances between jutdragon's and mine, mostly cosmetic. Someone needs to turn one of our models into Castle Grayskull or something similar.

Additional Notes

Snow version was done for my son using MCEdit to swap sandstone with snow. I think both look good, so go ahead and try different materials if you download it. Black wool, iron, or obsidian would be nice touches depending on your texture pack.

Wow! You built a giant snowman head. And a giant phone. You can build anything and that's what you went for. Boy you really are an expert on what's cool! I'll be sure to seek your advice the next time I want to make something cool and awesome. And I'll look to you for good grammar and spelling. I hope English is not your first language. Let the sarcasm begin!

For one thing, a boy I am not. For another I can take constructive criticism quite well. If you had a problem with the nose of my giant skull and said something like the septum is made of cartilage and wouldn't necesarilly be present in a completely defleshed skull then I would concede and maybe remove that part of the skull. All you did was pop onto a random page that no one forced you to veiw and complain that it was UNCOOL. Have you went to any other skull based projects to voice your concerns about the uncoolness of skulls? If not, why have you chosen my project to pigeon hole? I built this giant skull sculpture for pirate themed worlds. It is hollow on the inside and makes a very serviceable abode (or house). For another I (and several of my friends) consider skulls to be quite cool in fact. So unless you have some structural or aesthetic advice, please keep your opinion to yourself. Like your mother should have told you when you were young, "If you ain't got nothin' good to say, keep ya mouth shut".

You are truly mistaken my friend. I took a week or so placing blocks by hand using binvox and viewvox. This was long before I new about the t-schematic command in binvox. In fact everything I've uploaded onto planetminecraft has had every block in it placed personally by me with the exception of my 2 large Star Trek ships and the Babylon 5 project which I never would have had time to individually place all of those blocks with my work schedule.I added the eyes to the skull before I uploaded to here to give it a more sinister look (which I'm still not completely happy with). Everything I've uploaded I've either made by hand or converted from SketchUp models. Any thing I've "borrowed" has been completely documented. The only reason I don't have the 3-d model site that I used for this project's binvox file is I honestly don't remember where I found it. I made this long before I ever thought I'd be sharing my work on the net, so I didn't keep a record of the .obj file source. So before you go around calling someone a cheat or noob I'd appreciate if you would think for half a second and maybe check the person's other work out to see if they are producing original work or if all of their stuff is copied from other people. If there is one project that is similar to someone else's work and everything else is completely different then more than likely the one similar project is actually just similar and not a copy. I was planning on doing a 9/11 tribute world earlier and when I checked here I saw several other people were doing the same and I decided to not go through with it. When I posted my giant skull project above I did not know there was another similar project already here. If I had I would not of bothered to have posted mine because I've spent way to much time defending my work rather than getting on to building stuff and sharing it with others. This is the only project I've ever had any problems like this with and if you check out my pics and download both giant skull projects you will quickly notice the many structural differances in the projects. The angle shift on my skull is impossible to achieve with binvox or MCEdit and was an artifact of the .obj file I originally used. And by the way I checked out your Barracks, not bad. Please in the future don't assume (you make an "ass" out of yo"u" and "me") or sling out accusations. It would be very appreciated.

I actually used Jutdragon's skull for a Piratecove I'm making, but because it's not hollow, it's takes more time to make into a lair. I'm interested in using yours, but I don't know how exactly I should attach it to Jutts. Maybe on the side, a little lower. Do you have an idea perhaps?

When I loaded his up I noticed a hole in the back of the skull w/torches. Jut's is hollow inside like mine, although I didn't check out the jaw area. (unless he's modified it maybe, I haven't checked it out in about a month) As far as using them together some ideas might be to set them slightly apart with a bridge between them (maybe through the temple or ear area) or you could set them up in a staring contest, or another option would be to set up a skull version of Mount Rushmore (maybe create a Mt. MoreSkull or some such) then you could place mine lower to the side and if close enough you could just bore a hole from one skull to the next. Hope this helps.

Well, I checked again and it seems I got a different skull. I uploaded Jutts skull and it's indeed hollow. Sorry for the confusion. I planned on making them join, but I've stepped aside from the idea...

Yeah, they are similar, though your model has a septum still. My model didn't have a septum. I did mine back in January/February before I'd even heard of Planet Minecraft. I've went through and posted some of my earlier work and now I've got to finish my current ones. Trying to figure out how to reduce the voxelization on a 540 meter Babylon 5 so that my computer can handle it on MCEdit. If any one has advice let me know. That one will be binvox to MCEdit direct, it'd take forever just to do the shell alone.

Looks like you also had the same issue with the teeth I had. Binvox tends to erase fine detail I've noticed. Also looks like yours is a bit thinner in the face, where was your model from?

ThaSnipe, that one looks similar, but somewhat different. I think you had a different 3D model (maybe?). There is another finished big skull on Planet Minecraft somewhere, can't remember who submitted it though. I'll have to look. I'm planning on putting up my son's world save that has snow versions of a lot of these models on plus a bunch of other Planet Minecraft contributions. It will mostly be for kids or to possibly inspire others to use more of the stuff from this site (with documentation of course).
