Through this project, I am trying to replicate one of the obsolete prototypes for building standard public primary schools in Hong Kong by the government during the 1960s. To deal with the huge burden rapid population growth had imposed on education, many government schools (gov primary schools [官立小學], police gov primary schools [官立警察小學], gov secondary schools [官立中學], public schools [公立中學], technical gov schools [官立工業中學], etc) were built directly in different major resettlement areas [徙置地區]. The design of the school premises in this project has its inspiration from the Chai Wan Government Primary School [柴灣官立小學] that was unfortunately suspended in 1986. Although many government schools built with such design standards in the same period were gradually suspended and replaced by the education department [教育司署] in the 1980s, they constituted precious memories for the older generation (Our mums and dads studied there.). In the 1980s, new schools were to be built with a revised standard. They usually come with assembly halls [禮堂], covered playgrounds [雨天操場], basketball courts [籃球場], special rooms block [特別室], and more. The older design, however, was still adopted in the new prototype for building the classroom sections.

Schools built in this era mostly have classrooms on both sides, not only having the same appearance but also leaving a double-loaded corridor [雙邊式走廊] in the middle. My modified version, however, has classrooms on only one of the sides. The corridor is single-loaded [單邊式走廊] and it can provide better daylight and ventilation for students. Note that this was a mandatory standard for building new schools starting from the 1980s.

G/F: Covered Playground, R/F (Rooftop): Playground with no cover
Why 2 playgrounds? Very often, due to the shortage of school premises, 2 schools will share the same school building. One occupies the lower floors while the other one occupies the upper floors. The playgrounds can then be separated for schools to conduct PE (Physical Education/Sports) lessons.

Required Texture Pack: Custom Texture Pack*
Recommended Shader Pack: SEUS PTGI E6
Required Client Version: Java Edition 1.12
Required Modifications: Optifine (Labymod recommended)

The download package includes world-saves (1.12), schematics (1.12), and texture packs* (1.12).
*Based on IT-Project v2.2 128x [~10% custom extraction: with modified wools, stained clays, stones, and windows].

*Included for download in the project directory.
*The project may look weird without the texture pack and Optifine.

This project is built in Java Edition 1.12.2. Though, you should be able to open the world-save using older client versions, such as 1.8, with at most a few new blocks missing (most likely the ender rods in 1.12). The included texture pack is basically compatible with 1.8 - 1.12 clients. For 1.13+ users, you have to make use of the plugin worldedit to import the schematic file into your world. The schematic file is tested to work with version 1.8 - 1.15 flawlessly. Avoid using the 1.13+ built-in converter as it might cause serious problems.

I love it. It looks very mid-century modern. :)
