In this map you can explore the magnificent Grant Canyon in many ways. Many areas from the real Grand Canyon have been created such as the Skywalk and Horseshoe Bend observation area, and new areas have been added for your enjoyment. The map itself is a semi-accurate recreation of the Grand Canyon. Heights and sizes are not exact but it is optimized for playability. Built entirely in World Painter and creative minecraft.
This map is meant to be PLAYED
When you spawn you will be given the option of creative or survival. If you wish to play this map to it's full potential survival will be great for you, but if you wish to fly around and observe the canyon itself you should choose creative. After choosing you will end up in the Skywalk lobby. Outside the gates is a teleporter to the information room. The information room is the hub of activities. There is a warp to every area on the map, and extra information is given. Head there to begin your exploration.
Activities:
Horse Ranch- Here you will find horses to ride as you explore the canyon. This is also where you can start the survival challenge. In the Ranch house you have all the items you need to survive, and you can treat this map like a normal survival world. The only exceptions are that you cannot destroy the other structures I have built in order to get resources, and that there is not a solid stone underground, but clay with patches or dirt and ores and various ground materials.
Railroad- A good way to get a view of the Canyon, the railroad has two bridges and runs along and over the canyon itself. Yes, I do know there is no bridge over the Grand Canyon it was not meant to replicate any real bridge.
Rafting- Joe's Rafting offers free boats so you can ride down the canyon in it's very heart- the river.
Camping- Here there is a campsite on the riverside, a common resting area for rafters. If the ranch does not suit your survival needs you can always bring the items to the campsite and start there.
Observatories:
There are four observatories in the map. Two positioned in good view points of the canyon, one positioned near a waterfall, and the last overlooking Horseshoe Bend, a real-life location.
