Greenfield Convention Center
Welcome to the Greenfield Convention Center. This brand new development was part of the Greenfield waterfront redevelopment. This building hosts multiple events all year long. The building has 7 different halls and a banquet room with full kitchen. Each banquet hall can open up to others to create 3 larger halls. The whole thing is connected to an underground parking garage.
Buildings History
The Greenfield Convention Center was built over 2 years from 2014 to 2016. It was part of the Downtown Waterfront Redevelopment plan, and was the last building to be built for the plan. The new park and Convention Center bring in millions of people each year.
The Greenfield Convention Center replaced the old convention center located south of the city. The old building was structurally unsafe and it was decided it would be cheaper to build new then fix the old one. Instead of building on the same property, the city choose to move it too the waterfront. With a new infill of land the new convention center was over a 1/3 larger then the old one.
