This is one of the first landscapes that I made using WorldMachine and I think it turned out pretty well. It was inspired by the game Ryse, Son of Rome. The game takes place for a large part in Britain, and some of the levels with mountains and highlands looked really nice.

I made the map with WorldMachine, a program with which you can create natural and realistic terrain complete with erosion, meandering rivers and much more. After I got the map to my liking in WorldMachine I imported the height map into WorldPainter, which I used to populate the terrain with trees and get the different stone types.
