Hiya! This is my latest model, of the British passenger ship turned hospital ship HMHS Britannic. She was the sister ship of the RMS Titanic and RMS Olympic, and was to be the ultimate ship in the Olympic-class. Many improvements were made to her after the loss of the Titanic, such as raising many of her watertight bulkheads and adding more lifeboats. She also received many changes and improvements independent from the Titanic disaster, such as a womens' hairdresser, a new reception room connected to an enlarged restaurant, as well as a whole new deck added on top of the poop deck which allowed a larger 3rd class smoking room. Britannic was requisitioned by the British Admiralty as a hospital ship when WW1 broke out and had all of her interiors ripped out. She sank on one of her voyages ferrying wounded soldiers in the mediterrannean after striking a mine. Due to her added lifeboats and effective evacuation thanks to the massive automatic crane davits there were very few casualties. Britannic today remains the largest wreck on the seafloor, and she is in a good condition.
This ship was converted from my Titanic model I built last year. It is built in 1.8:1 scale and has a fully furnished interior. Please note however, that because there are no surviving deck plans detailing her as a hospital ship, we're mostly left to guess where everything was located and what areas were converted into what. This ship is just my interpretation of what she could have looked like. I based it on several sources, including the book "The Olympic Class Ships" by Mark Chirnside, as well as the website Hospital Ship HMHS Britannic: http://hmhsbritannic.weebly.com/
