This is my take on the Hoenn Region in Minecraft. I'm making the whole thing myself and am blogging the entire project at:
http://minecrafthoenn.blogspot.com.au/
On this blog, you can see the project in much greater depth. Many more screenshots and much more text is there for you to read.
- More space to walk around
- More realistic feel towards the original
- Buildings can have proper interiors while retaining the correct exterior proportions
- Much more detail per walking tile.
- Open feeling
The issue with the Pokemon games is that the interiors can be twice the size or more of the exterior which is physically impossible. All interiors are at a 1:1 scale so that all interior elements such as furniture and televisions can fit inside the building properly.

There you will find everything you want to know about how the Project started, Where it's up to and what's next. There are over 1700 screenshots scattered around the blog so all angles are covered.
You will need Minecraft 1.8 or later to fully enjoy this project.
I'm using no texture packs as my intention is to combine the charm of vanilla Minecraft with the locations of Hoenn. You can use your own preferred texture pack by all means.

Advantages of 2:1 Scale
What 2:1 scale means is that the Hoenn Region in this Minecraft Project is twice the size of the Hoenn Region in Pokemon on Gameboy. A 1x1 tile on the Gameboy is 2x2 blocks in Minecraft. The advantage of this is:- More space to walk around
- More realistic feel towards the original
- Buildings can have proper interiors while retaining the correct exterior proportions
- Much more detail per walking tile.
- Open feeling
Accurately Re-constructed Towns, Cities, and Routes
All Towns, Cities, and Routes will be included. Every Town, City, and Route is re-constructed as accurately as possible. Very little error has been made. All hidden areas, buildings, caves, and landmarks will be included and have been re-created with top-notch quality. All Buildings Have Interiors
All buildings will have interiors including all 8 Gyms, Contest Hall's, Pokemon Centres and Pokemon Marts. Plus all houses and landmarks. The issue with the Pokemon games is that the interiors can be twice the size or more of the exterior which is physically impossible. All interiors are at a 1:1 scale so that all interior elements such as furniture and televisions can fit inside the building properly.
