I would disagree with you. these builds remind me a lot of the stylings of mcnoodle on reddit.org.

Its a detailed style that isnt over designed. It helps create a vanilla type of feel to it.

Not everything as to be super detailed to look amazing. simple can be amazing too.
and for me, this proves that less is def. more.
