Basic Info
The HVT (Heavy Ventral Turret) is a belly-mounted TNT cannon designed to be installed on either the bottom of airships or on the ceiling of a cave or overhang. The gun can be used for the bombardment of ground/surface targets and the engagement of other airships. As the gun is mounted on the belly of a target, it's difficult for enemies to strike it back with artillery as cannons attempting to fire at it most likely will not directly hit it as the arc would have the projectile would have the rounds hit the top of the airship or the top of the cliff giving the gun a high degree of survivability and protection in a fight.
Note that this gun can only fire in the directions of the lime green marked zones if used with Movecraft as a turret making it primarily a broadside fighting weapon. Adding two more torches to the side of the torch block will enable it to fire in all directions as long as a slit is given for it to be able to fire on higher trajectories.

Nerd Stuff
The central timing mechanism for the gun is a pulse extender. How it works is that when the turret is powered by the Redstone torch tower underneath it, the propellant is dispensed. Upon powering the turret, the comparator clock is also locked preventing it from dispensing projectiles too early while a delayed signal is sent to the back of it. When the power turns off, the comparator clock is unlocked and the delayed signal stays on for a period of time turning the comparator clock on dispensing projectiles. A separate repeater train is sent to the pistons which control the arc of the gun. The pulse extender acts to determine when the piston will extend and when it will drop. The projectiles when dispensed will sit on top of the extended piston and drop when the piston retracts.
The point at which the projectiles are at while they fall as the piston retracts when the propellant explodes is what determines the arc/trajectory of the gun. The longer the pulse is given to the gun, the later the piston will drop and thus the higher the trajectory. The shorter the pulse is given to the gun, the lower the trajectory. Because the projectiles are in mid-air when the propellant explodes, the blast force from the propellant TNT is unhindered by anything and allows the gun to reach much longer ranges with less propellant than most guns that use slabs or other mounting blocks for their projectiles.
The central timing mechanism/pulse extender is outside of the gun and can be wired to multiple turrets in order to adjust the trajectory and fire multiple turrets at the same time with the same trajectory.
Movecraft Compatibility
The turret is compatible with the Movecraft plugin and can be mounted on airships or as a stand-alone rotating turret if you wish to use it for base defense. This gun is designed without any sort of factional color scheme theme alignment and can be mounted on cruisers, battleships, or even the overhang of a cliff. The subcraft rotate sign in the gun allows you to rotate the turret when right-clicking it or left-clicking it if Movecraft is installed.

Plugin Requirements ( None / Optional )
No plugins are required for the cannon to function as it is a purely Redstone device. However, the cannon can be used on Movecraft warships with their turret feature to allow it to face in different directions. Some servers that run Movecraft are ToTheEnd, Airship Pirates, and Strangelands.
