I've always wanted a way to make an instant land mine, because TNT has a delay and gives you time to run away. So, one day I started brainstorming, and got a brilliant idea: what if I used Ender Crystals? For those of you who don't know, Ender Crystals are the things at the top of the Obsidian Pillars in The End, which heal the Ender Dragon. Now some of you may be wondering, how are you supposed to get these Ender Crystals in the real world?

Back in Minecraft 1.1, when Spawn Eggs were introduced, you were able to hack the Items with Sever Commands (if you where an Operator or something), Modifications or Third Party Software so that they could spawn any Entity: Including Experience Orbs, Primed TNT (which blew up immediately when spawned), and of course Ender Crystals. Unfortunately, Jeb had to be a party pooper and remove this feature in 1.2, so that only the Spawn Eggs in the Creative Mode Inventory would work. But lucky me, I managed to save the bin folder for Minecraft 1.1, so I could easily downgrade whenever I wanted: and that's exactly what I did for this.

So, here's how my land mine works; when you step on a Pressure Plate (or drop something on a Wooden one) it triggers a piece of Redstone directly below the block it's on, which hence powers a Dispenser, which then shoots a Projectile (I chose Snowballs) at the Ender Crystal, which triggers it to blow up. Sound like allot? Believe it or not, this all happens in not even a split second: making it practically instant.

I had a lot of fun making these and I hope you'll make good use of them. I made up a tutorial world with very simple instructions on how to make these, and since not many of you have the bin folder for Minecraft 1.1 (and because it`s illegal to upload) I am going to upload a schematic for the Ender Crystals so you can place them with MCEdit instead (please be patient for this may take some time). This will take a little more work, but if you use this for an Adventure Map or something, I'm sure it will be worth it. I am also planning on making a YouTube video tutorial, but once again, please be patient. Thank you for checking this out, and please, if you ever plan on using this in anything, all I ask is you give me some credit. Happy Minecrafting!

Sincerely,

Crafter_Keegan

Additional Notes

- Two Tutorials

- Stone Land Mine

- Wood Land Mine

- Both are practically the same, but I built both anyway.

- Ender Crystals can no longer be placed with Spawn Eggs, but the Item ID is 383 200.

- Not a Superflat map, it is a downloaded map because Superflat terrain is not deep enough.
