Hi everyone, this is my map called "Into the Depths". It's a project I started working on back in 2011 and abandoned sometime in 2012 due to life getting in the way and a loss of interest in Minecraft. But I'm back and I intend to finally finish it.

Leave some feedback, report bugs and anything else your heart desires. Reviews and Let's Plays are also greatly encouraged!

Currently a beta is up for download, it's around 2-3 hours in length. The full map is being worked on and will be released soon.



Into the Depths is a horror/adventure map in the vein of the old Silent Hill and Resident Evil games, and takes heavy inspiration from both in terms of aesthetic and level design. This is a huge map, and with myself being the only person working on it since the beginning, it's taken a long time to get to the point where it is. The goal here is to create a map that feels like an entirely different game in itself rather than just another Minecraft custom map.

The story is a deep and layered tale of one man, an escaped convict, who stumbles across a castle in the woods. The castle is owned by a man named King Arnold Schuster. The only problem is, no one is inside. The entire castle is abandoned, seemingly for a very, very long time, of people at least. Various clues hint that King Schuster may have opened a portal to the underworld, and the only way to close it is by giving the Four Golden Apples to God. Though as you progress, you'll soon realize that not everything is what it seems to be.

The main "gimmick" of this map is the "otherworld" sections, which are pretty much taken right from the Silent Hill series. Certain areas will be invaded by the otherworld, and will have a hellish aesthetic, and sometimes you may even travel through Otherworld versions of areas you've already been through.

I won't spoil much else, but give my map a try, and leave some feedback here when you're done. I'm sure you'll enjoy it if you're a fan of horror, adventure, and especially story-heavy, character-driven games. This is a Minecraft map for the mature audience, and while the demo doesn't reflect that TOO much just yet, that's because the story still has a way to go.

I've now got a new beta version of the map with a good chunk of new content and new additions such as custom sounds and music.  With this new version, the map's completion is around 65-70 percent.
