Johannesstraße 17 is a Bank Building located on the Johannesstraße/Goethestraße street in the new town area of Gießen, Hesse, Germany.
It is a 19th century neo baroque building which had unfortunately been damaged in the Second world war due to the massive Anglo-american air raids on the civilian city center of Gießen in the second world war. It was used as a Bank building from the Commerzbank branch.
It has been rebuilt relatively well, although it misses it roof which was replaced with a third floor, which keeps the original architectual design though. The roof today is a simple flat pyramidical roof, in comparision to its former Baroque mansard roof.
Immediately left of it the Saint John's Church (Johanneskirche) from which also the name of the street originates from is located.
