It's funny how during your building "career" you seem to reach plateaus, and you think that you've peaked, it's like leveling up, only to realize there are more levels ahead.. well, I'm at such a point, feeling that I've reached a peak in shipbuilding, and since this is likely my last project, I guess this is as far as I'll go :) But you never know, there have been several times I've left minecraft only to come back later.. the point is, this ship is the best I've ever done, also happens to be the biggest. Let me tell you a bit about it :)

"Justice de Strat" or Justice of Strat in english, duh, is a french 4 gun deck 160 gun 1st rate ship of the line, not a replica, but closely based on and inspired by real vessels, such as the english 4 decker that never was, the "Duke of Kent", the interior is mostly basead on the Ocean class 120 gun french Montebello, as well as the later 1849 Bretagne, also french. Finding accurate blueprints of any french vessel was considerably harder than I anticipated, and ofcourse those that exist are all in french, making this as much of a researchproject as it was building. It's very surprising to see so many differences in french shipdesign compared to the british, since the exterior is for the most part very similar. In a nutshell this ship is a fictional one, inspired and based upon actual ships, placing Justice de Strat at a launching date of 1822. The ship is built as all the rest of my recent ships on our project map that is very nearly completed.

Type: 1st rate ship of the line
Gundecks: 4
Decks total: 8
Guns: 160
Sails: 35
Complement 1450
Boats: 6
Length of hull: 85
Length overall 127
Beam: 27
Height: 107
Project time: ~70hrs

Here's a gif showing you all the decks and framing of the 1st and 2nd gundeck.

If you missed it, go check out my previous upload, the ship building archive, much good stuff :)
As always I'll appreciate any comments, feedback and so on, really hope you enjoy this one and have fun building ^^ Also keep an eye out here https://twitter.com/TeamLyrah/status/885166936321122304

This ship is built with a plugin that allow trapdoors and other blocks
to be placed freely, without it, blocks will likely be missing. You will ofcourse have a chance to visit this and all of my other ships when our map is released.

If you want to use the ship for your own purposes, for a server, a cinematic etc, please contact me.

For best compatability, use Conquest resourcepack for MC build 1.7.10, or put the map into the Conquest map converter and use the mod. Optifine is needed as well.

Where did you get that number? The hull is 85 blocks / meters long, as stated in description.

Even the Santisima Trinidad has like 61 meters long hull. Nevermind it's very nice.

Yeah, which was a converted 3 decker, built 50 years earlier. You should
check out the ships from the relevant time, again, read description. For example, Montebello, Bretagne. Victoria, etc. Basically you could take the Bretagne, add a fourth gundeck and you'll have this ship.
My god... Impressive work!

indeed, I recognize the Montebello in the shape and in the color scheme, well done
cause reproducing ship can't be perfect, and the purpose is to improve our work, isn't your stern too large compared to the beam ? ( or the tumblehome not consequential enough ?)

Thanks, but no, it's goodly proportioned, :) The image you linked is a technical drawing which doesn't show any perspective, if you move far enough back and zoom in, you could almost see that kind of view of a ship in the game, but not quite. As for the tumblehome, it be proper as well :p the tumblehome is different on every ship, and: (unrelated), the french almost got rid of it completely during the 1850's, look at the Valmy.
edit, sent you a pm about it :)
I ship it, u should make a ship shipping a ship shipping a ship ship
