Kriegsschule or also known as Hofverwaltungsgebäude was a representative building located on the Friedrichsplatz in Kassel, Germany.
It was originally built in the years 1826 to 1829 by Kurfürst Wilhelm II as a building to house Court offices - till 1868. From then on it was used as a military academy and had a longer military history till 1938. From 1935 to 1938 it housed the general Command of the Wehrkreis (Military district) IX Which was responsible for the area around Kassel and parts of Thuringia too.
1938 it moved over to a new built building in national socialist architectural style which is located on the Graf Bernadotte Platz. (It even is still used by State authorities nowadays, and it was not destroyed)
This building however, the Kriegsschule, also fell victim to the Bombing raids on the historic city center of Kassel on the 22th octobre 1943.
Right next to it stood the Saint Elisabeth Church.
