Hey Guys, Jaxalon here.
Today I'm back with my first real try at landscaping and to be honest I'm very happy with how it's turned out.
There are definitely bits i would improve upon but for the most part I think it looks great.
This is probably going to be an ongoing project of mine so feel free to leave feedback and if you have any tips on how to make any improvements to the map then be my guest and put them down in the comments or my personal inbox.
As always I'm happy for you to take this creation and use it in your maps, or whatever else as long as you give me credit and remember to put it in the comments if you do use it as I'd be happy to go and check out your map.
Thanks for taking the time to look at my things.

Update #4 - The Outcrop Caves : by Jaxalon 10/04/2017 11:14:04 amOct 4th, 2017
added 'The Outcrop Caves'. Took around 3/4 hours to build, okay with it however could have been much better. Used a nice little trick for the tunnels where i drew them out first, filled in the air around them then removed the blocks all in one go rather than carving out the tunnels and it worked fantastically.

what sort of work do you need doing? Is it mainly landscaping type work or are you looking for more intricate architecture type of building?
Thanks :)
I like to cut into the rock front (cliff face) and determine the fall & direction the water will take through smaller gullies. I tend to split the initial fall of water into multiple smaller falls, that join up as a bigger fall further down the cliff.
Cutting gullies into your cliff will avoid the "fanning-out" water will do when let flow freely over terrain :)
Ps....
Visually ~ waterfalls must match the river that feeds them. The width of the river should match the width of the falls. The fall (rate of decent) of the river will determine the force or out-gush of the falls. To make water falls look slower, make more of the water drop vertically in long thin curtains. Planting a few trees up the middle of the falls will also make it look less like a dam outlet.
Currently your Falls look like being a little too big for the river that feeds them.
Hope I haven't bored you to death :P
Thanks for the advice, like I said this is my first real foray into terraforming so I am open to suggestions and am looking for ways to become better at it so that's pretty good to know.
I will be making a lot more in this map so I'm sure I'll put another waterfall in somewhere but even if I don't it's definitely something I'll consider in a different project.
Another hint with WP when adjusting the size or depth of lakes or water areas. ...After making the adjustments to the terrain, sponge all the water out from the previous lake, river etc. Then add water back to the area with water drop tool. This will help avoid any of those water level issues where a lake has two water levels???
