Lore:
The year is 2094.50 years after the Third World War in the Pacific Theatre.
The battle of the Western and Eastern powers had the Philippines in ruins.
None of them won the war.

10 years after the horrific event, the Philippines was rebuilt. Economic
performance gradually increased, and the population rose from 120 million to
250 million in just a span of 70 years.

Supertall buildings called "Barangays" were built to provide more residential
space, especially in the National Capital Region, where displaced residents
started building their informal settlements after the war.

The first "Barangay," governed by a "Datu" was built in the north of Pasig river,
where the old Kingdom of Tondo was founded. Later, more and more of these buildings
were built, and informal settlements were forcefully destroyed by the police.

Corruption within these "Barangays" are prevalent as only the elite can control their
resources. Hidden illegal drug laboratories are managed by the politicians in the upper
section and supplies the poor in the lower section, further destroying their lives.

The Barangay:
This building represents the social pyramid that still exist in our current society.
The Upper, Middle, and Lower Classes were divided into sections, each having different
roles in the society. The slum areas were built as if they were trying to climb the
social pyramid, while the authorities do everything to prevent them on doing so.

Despite the advancements in technology and the economic improvements in our country,
millions are still in poverty. Inefficient handling of funds resulted in the decrease
of funds allocated for education, health, and agriculture, while most of the politicians
spend most of our public funds to fulfill their lavish lifestyles.

The Project:
This project represents the current social crisis not only in the Philippines, but also
in most of the countries around the world. Even in the modern world where food supplies
are enough for everyone, yet many still can't afford to provide for themselves. Where
information is easily accessible, yet many are ignorant enough not to notice the issues
we have in our society.

This project was first inspired by the movie Dredd. I later decided to represent the
current Philippine society to raise awareness regarding the social issues that we have
today.

I used the Baybayin script to introduce our pre-colonial writing system which is currently
gaining popularity in the mainstream media. There are other ancient scripts used throughout
the different regions in the country, but this is the one I'm most comfortable at.

It is also easy to learn as compared to other East Asian writing systems.

The music I used in the cinematic is "Paint it Black" by The Rolling Stones as it perfectly
describes how the dystopian future would be if people keep on ignoring their mistakes.
The cinematic video is greatly inspired by the Call of Duty Black Ops 3 trailer.

BTW, it has complete interiors! huehue

Thank you so much for viewing this project. Give it a diamond and favourite if you like it. =D

Have been revisiting this page so many times ever since the start of the contest.
Have to admit that this project excels in every aspect, especially the concepts and presentation.
I had once referred the page to a few architecture students and they all found it grounded & inspiring.
This proves how practical and professional this work is so I also recommend it to anyone else here as it is a very all-rounded design reference.

And, of course, I wish the building will be realised someday soon in Manila.

Hello!

The map works on my system so I dunno what happened to yours :(

From what I can remember, I had problems such as lower frame rate and crashing back when I was making it and tried to remove all of the shulker boxes and it worked. Not sure what is causing your problems though.

Maybe you can try to play it on Java 1.12.2 since it is the recommended version.

Calm down, now what was wrong with your map was the shading, the end bars and the sea lantern did not illuminate anything at night, that was the cause of the crash, what I did was use edit world to change all the light blocks into new ones and you know what step, the map worked like any other, its fine that you put lighting on things that are not, but thanks to me, now this map will be enjoyable for everyone.

Ohhh got it lol. I think this has something to do with my usage of world edit and mc edit since using these tools tends to cause lighting errors. I used sea lanterns and end rods just for aesthetic purposes. Thanks for letting me know! =D
