The MCRN Tachi was a corvette class frigate operated by the MCRN, the Tachi was the ready standby on board the Donnager during its destruction, and carried its only survivors away before its scuttling. After the death of the Martian Marine escorting the remaining crew of the Canterbury to mars, the MCRN Tachi was stolen by James holden and rechristened the Rocinante.

The Corvette-class light frigate was a 12 crew, frigate used by the Mars Congressional Republic Navy. The class filled the roles of a light missile platform, boarding craft, customs enforcement, reconnaissance, and anti-capital ship vessel. The Corvette class was one of the smallest classes of ships used by the MCRN coming in at only 46 meters long, while also being one of the most effective combat vessels in its fleet. Up to 6 Corvette-class frigates were known to be held inside of the hangar of Donnager class Battleships, alongside Morrigan-class destroyers.
