This is my original Medieval Castle and Town built using the John Smith texture pack but now in the Conquest texture pack.
NOTE: This version is no longer being updated. Please check out Lynworth Castle: Reforged to see this map updated with the Conquest Reforged Mod.

This build depicts a realistic medieval castle situated on the coast. It consists of a large keep as the main living space and final defense for the local lord. The bailey contains a great hall, and a chapel, as well as kitchens, stables, barracks, kennels, and mews for the lords hunting falcons.

The keep has 5 levels reached by a spiral staircase which twists (as all in the castle do) to the left as you climb giving advantage to right-handed defenders. The top floor, or garret, is used to house servants, the next level is the private chamber of the lord and his family, next is the main hall, and living quarters for the lord and his household, the ground floor is for cooking and storage, and finally the lowest level has more grisly functions...

The castle has many working gardrobes (toilets), including a urinal attached to the great hall (all that mead and ale has to go somewhere). There is also a system that collects rain-water from the kitchen roof to a cistern in the castle wall that feeds a sink in the kitchen. The sink then drains to the exterior. (Hoping the aquatic update allows this to actually function **fingers crossed**)

The castle-town is surrounded by large stone walls and is separated into an upper and lower town. The upper town contains the large church and many upper-class homes and shops. The lower town contains many houses and shops, as well as, as stable, inn, tavern, smith, carpenter, cartwright, rope-maker, and glass-maker. The lower town also contains a quay with trading ships, and warehouses.

Outside the walls there is a small farming community complete with a windmill (grain), watermill (fulling), barn, granary, threshing pit, dovecote, market, stables, butcher, baker, farm houses, orchards, gardens, apiary, fishing docks, meadows, pastures, and crop fields using the "3-field"system (spring planting, fall planting/plowed, & fallow).

I've tried to make this as realistic as possible, this means that I have often made building more simplistically, as they would be in real life.

Make sure you're using the conquest texture pack and in Minecraft version 1.12.2.

Hi! I want to ask, is it possible to use this map freely on my RPG project for passage?

It's free to use. If you're using it on a server please make sure that you give credit.

What do you mean by "for passage"?

Nice Build!

Just a quick question. Are you still using Conquest and Sildur's Shaders? The connected textures don't seem to work with Sildur's Shaders. (watery effect?)

Hmmmm. Not sure why that's happening. Yes I am still using Sildur's. You may just want to try using another shaderpack. I'm not happy with the sky textures in the recent Sildurs updates (very pixelated). Any suggestions?

Well, it's weird that it's working for you since i'm not the only one with the problem^^

Triliton's Shader look good with conquest but it's a HUGE fps hit for me. Dropping from 70-80 fps to <30 is overkill :D

EDIT: just fixed the "watery" bug. ice and glass reflections caused the problem.
