Medieval village me and my mate BurrningArrow made on Buildersrefuge. Render done by SirRogerBob. We had lots of fun making it :) The houses were made using a modular structure system, which was really cool to do.

Very cool. Can you explain more about the modular structure system? I'm intrigued how that works. I see some rooftop structures are repeated for example.

We built two houses to get the style down, then made loose sections. So like an roof+ top floor section, a wall section, tower, etc. Then we grabbed those, pasted them together to make new houses and then just finished those up. It's quite fast, but only really worth doing for villages specifically.

Thanks for the response. How come they're only really worth doing for villages? Are other styles/builds too different for piecing together from modules?

If you're making 3 or so houses, it's easier to all just build them individually in a traditional manner. If you're building a city, there's better ways to do it than this. So basically the system is only efficient for builds with around 5-15 houses.

Which plugin did you use in order to make those wonderful mountains ? Is it Go brush and go paint ?

No plugins, I use two external programs: world machine and world painter.
