An epic world save built before version 1.0 that contains a medieval walled city inspired by Rothenburg ob der Tauber. If you like it, please give it a diamond. It's a small reward for the last 6 months and hundred plus hours put into this project.

This world save was built by a single person. All buildings are original. The texture pack is my own and the city is best viewed using my texture pack (www.planetminecraft.com/texture_pack/medieval-rothenburg/). That being said, I am not completely happy with my texture pack and it lacks in some areas. If anyone would like to take on the project of adapting my texture pack to fit the needs of a better Rothenburg (European cities) then send me a message.

I've been promising that once the walls surrounding the city are connected that I would post the world. The city walls surround the city, however, they are still rough and require quite a bit of polishing to meet my vision. Of course the same could be said for the whole project.

Some of the buildings are furnished and completed to my satisfaction. Others are shells waiting to be designated for use and decorated.

Besides the city walls and towers, the city contains the Spital Bastion and Spital tower, St. Jakob's Cathedral, City Hall and City Counsel Tavern (with beer and wine cellar and prison dungeon), clock tower, apothecary, wool shop, restaurant, old prison and Markus Tower, working public restroom, sewers, fountains, an area that is walled for a castle. The castle sits above an abandoned mine.

World save is 2384W X 2208L X 128H. In that space, the bedrock has been set to one layer and the area below sea level was lowered 10 blocks.

Sorry about the quality of the youtube video. It is my first ever youtube video and I'm not sure why the resolution is so poor. I used FRAPS (free version) and Adobe Premiere.

Everything in this world may be used for other purposes. I only ask that you do not try to profit ($) from my work and that you give me credit for my work.

Like others, I'd greatly appreciate it if you would -

30 buildings does not make a city. You more or less have a down-town of city, rather than the whole thing. However, you do have a nice looking down-town.

Too big to save as schematic. Only can be used in world save. You can download the world save and cut each buidling out as a schematic if you want.

This build was from an old version of minecraft before many of the newer blocks and block placement choices. Also it looks really crappy with the default texture pack.

what's the final goal for this? Going to fill in all the stuff within the walls?

That was the original goal, however, I lost interest in the project in part because of the lack of interest (support) of other minecrafters. Note: Diamonds help some maintain a high interest level.

Thanks. Yes, disappointing that I only have 7 diamonds for 6 months of work and it's been posted for days. Especially when you see others get 7 diamonds the same day for stealing someone else's work.

Kinda put me in a sour mood. Haven't touched Minecraft in over a week. Not that we build for others, but when one is recognized for his/her work, it does give incentive to continue to work. When one is not recognized, all that is left is self-motivation which with all the other things I need to/should/could spend my time working on it is easier to be pulled to something else.

BTW, I like your work too.

yeah, that's the main incentive for me building, it is nice to be recognized for your work, and knowing that people can enjoy something you've made.

The only thing I can suggest is to spend more time on the screenshots, that first photo is crucial for having people clicking on your submission, as the recently updated projects section is inundated with a lot of junk that can obscure your work, my most recent project is essentially just a few houses that I really didn't expect to get on the popular reel, but I spent ages taking good screenshots and editing the photos, and it ended up with lots of people viewing it, also I feel the texture pack you use doesn't do your work justice, I would say your 2nd or 8th picture is the best here, and would look even better with a nicer texture pack.

I hope you keep on building :)
