This medieval world is a (relatively) large project of mine, featuring
two villages, two fortresses and a small castle. There is also a port
with 6 ships, and another 2 ships near the 2nd fortress.
The first fortress is carved into a mountainside. The 3x3 gate is operational,
relying on redstone. Multiple banners are displayed next to the entrance
(I enjoy coming up with my own designs). Outside, there is a small
village (the snowy one).

The second fortress is mostly a naturally generated mountain, with my additions of walls and turrets,
and underground passages and rooms. I am planning to add more houses
inside this ring-shape, but currently it only features two, one of them
being a watermill (just decoration).

The castle surrounded by a village is still an on-going worksite, over time I will add more houses, and I'm planning an outer wall. There are two troop barrack houses, as
well as two training grounds, one for ranged, one for melee combat.
There are two inns, and a street of shops. A windmill is located on the hill. There is also a large church in the background, with a working note-block bell located in the tower. There is another inn halfway between the castle and the first fortress.
All buildings have interiors!

Additional notes:

1. The entire map is built to player-size, meaning it has realistic proportions to the player.

2. I said that the map is only 60% complete, however I do not know how
many of my plans I will be able to add, so that is just an estimate.

3. I built this entire map without any help from mods. The world is entirely vanilla, and I built it by hand in creative mode.

4. Currently, this map mostly serves as decoration, it is not designed as a survival spawn/adventure map.

5. Sorry I don't have any renders, that's not my area.

Hope you enjoy! Please leave a comment or suggestion. I'm always open for feedback & constructive criticism!

2 Update Logs

Update #2 : by Kwanatla 07/01/2020 9:51:09 amJul 1st, 2020

Sadly, I have to announce that this project is kinda dead, I haven't worked on it properly in ages... mainly because I've been working on much more sophisticated projects.
I have come a long way, and when I compare the buildings in this world to what I'm capable of producing today, I realise that I don't really want to touch this world anymore, due to two reasons, which go hand-in-hand:
I don't want to modify this world any longer, because it is holds a nostalgic value for me and because I wish to preserve it as a milestone from the past. The second reason is that the build style is simply not up to scratch in terms of what I could do today, so I would either have to update every single building, or continue in my newer style, which would look awkward.

This project has been a bit of a playground for me. I learned the basics of building here, but I think it's time to move on. This world has been an incredibly fun long-term project and an important part of my journey as a builder. It also marks me joining PMC, as it was the first project I posted on here. In fact, I mainly got my PMC account to show off this project!

I mean, I could add villagers, but I don't think I want to, mainly because they're unpredictable and sometimes wander off. Also, as I said in the most recent update, I won't be continuing this world...

Where do you mean? The ones serving as guardrails? How would you do them?

Ok I have a problem here because of the English language - I just don't know the rigth word so let try to explain:
I am talking about the picture of the ship 2 previous to the last picture. Here I would remove the fences, which connects the masts (rigth word?). I guess this should be the segeltau / segelschot <-> sail dew / sail sheet (translated by google translator - no idea if there are the rigth English words.

But sadly Minecraft does not have diagonal or good rope like blocks so most people try to use wool blocks, fences, strings or cobwebs instead of this - but this does not look well; i think it's better remove them and show nothing for them. I know the ships problems from my own worlds and I am not really good in build ships on my own. Biside that air fences I like your ships - your raft is amazing ;) - so keep on working on this map please.
