The Mil Mi-24 Hind is a large, limited-capacity troop-carrying gunship and attack helicopter produced by the Mil Helicopter Plant in Moscow since the early 1970s. Variants of the Mi-24 include the export versions Mi-25 and Mi-35.
It has been in use since 1972 by the Soviet Air Force, its successors, and around fifty other nations. Soviet pilots nicknamed the helicopter the "flying tank".
