This is a 1024x1024 map which has been created in response to the Shroud of the Avatar Scene Jam. Check out Shroud of the Avatar at their website to learn more about this upcoming game: www.shroudoftheavatar.com/

Basically the developers of the game have crowd sourced it via KickStarter, it was funded quite a while ago but now they are coming out with competitions and extra ways to earn / win in-game stuff. For the next four weeks they are having what they call 48hour "Unity Scene Jams," they'll give you a challenge and you use the Unity editor/engine to complete them.

Since I don't have enough time to learn Unity and the time isn't quite aligned being in Australia, I did this Scene Jam in MineCraft instead!

This is what I call the Skeleton Coast. An ancient but strong island, selected by the former inhabitants of the world for it's geological stability. There are six points of ingress and egress which will all hook up in one way or another. There is a frozen ice lake under the surface, which the previous inhabitants tapped for water, many caverns, one quite large "underworld" area, some things scattered across the surface, tombs, an underground aquaduct, a giant spiral staircase used to transport a huge number of people and many more things in here.

For the moment this is a creative save, I will work on it a bit further in the near future and turn it into a Survival map.
