At a town called Corb_town on the server World of Keralis I build this small but easy living modern house. The house is 100% done. Also decorated!

It has a:
  • open hallway
  • kitchen
  • livingroom
  • workspace
  • two bedrooms
  • bathroom
  • storage room
  • and lounge (basement)

ps. Keep in mind this build is done in a older MC version. Think around 1.4.0 or something. Just when we got the 4 wood block colours.

It freaks me out when I build something like this because it appears so flat.
But after all, it looks quite nice with shadows and some lighting effects, which I think are the key to the modern buildings.

True, that's really the hard part. You should try this because it's so damm hard to get it right. I'm not saying this is my best build ever, but if I watch my 3th screen, the most basic of them all I can see (and mabey i'm blinded because I build it myself) the strong shapes withes forms the structure lines. Color does the rest.

Think If you do basic, you need to go as basic as it can be. Others do a mixture of both and end up with a Failed Keralis thingy... Mean, with all kinds of added structure elements to make stuff just less dull. You can see on those builds the builder wasn't inspired enhough to make it work.

I see you subbedà www.planetminecraft.com/member/z3n0n/ aswell. He's also very good on making it really work.

It actually isn't that hard. But it's hard to convince your self that what you made is looking nice.
It appears so plain that you want to add more things.

I think zenon's style is mixture of mine and some mediterranean ish things.

True, but he got alot of different modern builds aswell. He's also trying more then modern and you see he thinks alot like us.

I doubt I think this much when I build. I'm more of "oh this looks nice. Actually nvm Its not. Wait it might be nice, HM", while I'm building. I evaluate after I'm done with it LOL
