A shift register is a device where when an input is sent, the output will travel in one direction. This is very useful in making large complicated redstone contraptions. For example: a video game, a counter, acalculator, a cmputor, and many other things. In this download I have included two different examples of D flip-flops, but these are to show you why it works. for more compact ones, go onto www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Redstone_circuits and click on the d flip-flop link or search for a "minecraft d flip flop" or a "minecraft shift register" and you will probably find a helpru video.

Additional Notes
This mod's demo includes blocks from Mighty pork's power craft mod.
this improves the demonstration, but the mod is not necessary.
This is in creative mode.
If you switch to survival mode and somehow cant get back to creative mode:
If you want to get out, the exit is in the compact D flip-flop room.
If you die, a spawn bed is by the exit.
If you fall outside the walls, their are stairs by the glowstone wall.
