The next major Monsters Industries update is here! The goal of this update was to make the game less... how do you say, boring. This is a massive gameplay overhaul, adding a ton of new features, upgrading, updating, polishing, way too much to fit even here! Go check it out now :)

This project was made entirely by me and my team, the only exception being the inclusion of the Legacy Map. If this map causes any legal issues I do not foresee, this issue will be taken care of.

DISCLAIMER 2: This map is playable, but is not finished. If you play it in its current state and give helpful feedback and suggestions, you will be considered a Beta Tester and get your head put in the game, as well as a Discord role on the server!

Use this command if anything is out of place! My datapack is designed to use this command religiously during testing, it won't break anything. In fact, it's my primary way to reset the map and etc. without resetting players' stats/reload

Welcome to Monsters Industries Reborn, a complete and total overhaul of the original PvP map by MrFoogy. I got the idea to make this after I realized it's been 6 whole years since 1.8 was released. Minecraft has come a long way since then, and the addition of datapacks was the icing on the cake. Now I could recreate his map with astronomically less lag and more features! What do we have over the original, and other remakes, you ask? Wait, you didn't ask? Oh. Well, here it is anyways! This remake of the original game is probably the most ambitious to date, featuring a slew of new gameplay mechanics not seen in any other version. Features:

  1. Mobs - The new Monsters Industries features almost every mob available in 1.16, as well as some custom mobs and mobs that aren't even used in vanilla Minecraft! Every mob's position in the game has been carefully considered so that the experience is as whole and diverse as possible! Each mob has its own strengths-- exploit them!
  2. Weapons - Featuring all of the newer weapons, as well as Fireworks for a pretty AoE display! (Enchantments are a planned feature but are either very hard or clunky, and we want neither.)
  3. Fusion - A whole new way to craft mobs, by combining 2 weaker ones together! Find clues around the map for which mobs to use in certain recipes.
  4. Maps (WIP) - Here at the new Monsters Industries, we have multiple maps! We plan on adding as many as we can think of. There are special maps as well, that have a unique mob pool and unique terrain challenges.
  5. Modular Settings - Stock Limit and Difficulty Modes can be changed and work together seamlessly. Play your way!
  6. Legacy Map, Untouched by Man‎™ (It's like, 90% done okay?) - We have included the Legacy Map, rebuilt block by block from the ground up, and left out all of our new fancy features for you nostalgiaphiles. Now you can get the best of both worlds, with less lag and a better GUI!
  7. Custom Datapack and Resource Pack - That's right! The holy... pair. Datapacks are the special sauce on this bucatini, you know? They allow us to not only digitize all of the command block logic from the old map (which bogged down the performance and lagged the game) but allow for so many new features such as the /schedule command! The resource pack is mainly used for language fixes to edit some features of the game, but I have big plans such as custom effects!

I try to update this map often with new features, feedback, and bug fixes! I will reiterate, all feedback is read and fully considered!

you should add a stack representer to show a whole stack as villagers have only 2 spots to trade it would help to buy more easily like a nether warts it will help a lot with players and might reduce lag

I played this map, expecting an improved version of the ‘ol 1.8 monsters industries. This was not the case. While I appreciated the better armor and weapons system, I didn’t like how food was removed and regen was so hard to come by. Also, mobs have an EXTREMELY hard time aggro-ing. I summoned a wither and it just sat there afk at the spawner. Also, sometimes when I summoned a mob onto my opponent, it spawned on my side. I got killed twice by my own ravagers! Illusioners were also an issue. They were passive mobs. When I did the /summon command for them, they functioned beautifully. Spiders had a similar problem. When they spawned, instead of attacking the player, they would just cluster up in a corner made possible by the barrier blocks. This would kill any skeletons ib the spider jockeys. Another thing is that workers need to be more powerful, and the P.A.P.E.R less so. I won my game without any workers while my opponent had them all by the end simply because he couldn’t keep up with me, paper wise. 1 more problem was that when I spawned 128 baby zombies, projectiles stopped working until they were dead. This map has enormous potential, and I look forward to seeing it in its completion, but right now, I’ll give it a 5/10 rating.

Hello! So, after some testing, I'm unsure how you were killed by your own Ravagers as entities won't attack other entities on the same team. Both Ravagers were recieved by the fusion output function and tested with both teams; Players on the opposing team were attacked while the being on the same team made the Ravager passive.

Regarding the spiders, if the barrier blocks weren't there, they would climb up the wall out of aggro range. This way, if the player walks close, the spider will still attack them. (See other comment)

The entity overload/projectiles issue is something we've noticed and are working on solutions, like possibly a timer on mobs so every mob dies after being alive for x amount of time.

The wither is something we have to change the way he is summoned. Like I said, unfortunately we cannot make an entity already aggroed.

The Illusioner actually WAS a bug though, thanks for pointing it out!

We are going to put out a balance patch for the lever and workers. Hope this helps!

Thank you so much for the feedback! If you could give any detail as to how you would improve the systems, please drop by the Discord so we can have a convo about it :) I would love to implement any suggestions or criticism you have. As for the mob AI, these seem like bugs to me. When I get home I will take a look at the Illusioner and Ravagers. Also as for the Spiders, it is currently impossible to summon a mob already aggressive. For instance, you cannot /summon a Spider to be already angry at a player as that would cause a lot of issues. Again, I highly encourage you to drop by the Discord so we can have an in-depth discussion about how to improve the map :)
