Mountains of Tirith Doone
This is the beginning of a world I created using World Painter. I plan on building multiple things here eventually including a "Scottish" town, dwarven city, and multiple custom dungeons. It will be a custom adventure map of amazing proportions and also a part of a larger project: Land of Mirador. I still have a ways to go, but expect it to be out by later this winter. Look out for the release of this map!
For now, it is just some beautiful terrain which stretches on for miles. Feel free to download and explore what is there so far.

I used World Painter for the basic map, then Voxelsniper and Worldedit to "Touch up" on a few areas such as adding snow, changing biomes, smoothing terrain, etc. This map was my first attempt at a terraforming project and I am very satisfied by how it turned out. I hope everyone else agrees.
Dimensions: At around 890x890. However, the custom terrain only extends for the first 300-500 blocks. The rest of the area is for future expansion.

Spring is just beginning in the Mountains of Tirith Doone. The snow begins to melt and grass peeks out from beneath its cool blanket. The small village of Golden Dale is waking up. Children laugh and play near the river. Men and women are seen with smiles and bright eyes. However, everything changes when the mountain man travels down. He brings with him tidings of a great evil which is quickly spreading throughout Tirith Doone. He warns that if nothing is done, the village will soon fall into darkness. Will you be able to save the village of Golden Dale from the thing which quickly approaches or will you fall victim to your own mind and be trapped inside the great evil forever?

The Rite of Dark
O dark lord of terror, gift us with an artifact to bring us salvation for ourselves and everyone around us. Let the darkness wash down around the world, so that all may soon wish to perish. We will stand ever watchful over your shrine, dark one, in wait of your coming. And the judgement of all; those faithful and those not, so that the world may be purged by fire and cast into the great pit of Reyva'Zel. May all worship the ground you walk on, dark one, when you come and bestow your gifts upon the faithful and exact revenge on the wicked.

You can do this by slowly raising and lowering the terrain with a noise brush, and having a low density stone material brush ;)
But it looks great so far :)
My computer is a sony VAIO (its the older one)
