I present to you, the USS Concord. This is a build which means very much to me. I first started this 3 years ago when I initially joined Planet Minecraft. I had almost completed the ship when my computer failed and it was lost, However, recently my Dad had the old hard drive read and a schematic of the Concord's Saucer section was found. For the last few weeks I have been working to complete my baby and here she is. There are only 2 decks left in the secondary hull to complete. The nacelles are a modified version of the legendary Atrocities Constitution-class ones. He was a great inspiration for this build.

Ship's History
The USS Concord was built and launched in 2267. The ship was specifically built for defense and flagship duty. It was built with the worry of Romulan attacks and a war with the Klingons constantly on the horizon. The vessel was equipped with 14 phasers, 2 torpedo bays, and an experimental "super phaser" designed to negate shields. To support its combat duties, it also had large cargo bay and staging area, and an extensive shuttle bay with room for 8 shuttles! It also contained a larger, weaponized shuttle called the "Flaming Arrow". This would be used to strategically strike enemy ships. It also had extensive crew accommodations as it was designed to spend extremely long times away from starbase.

However, soon after the vessel was finished, the Treaty of Organia was signed and the colony of galactic peace was established. With the threat of was dissipating, the Federation felt embarrassed at building a warship and immediately after it left drydocks it was shoved off into a far corner of the Federation and put in mothballs. However, with the Romulans reappearing and the Borg coming into play, the ship is being reactivated In 2365, almost a century after her initial introduction.

I will add download when the ship is completely finished. Just couldn't wait to post it after getting some renders from Chunky.

Beautiful build. Excellent coloration and shading on the exterior; lots of nifty details that make it look very cinematic. Interior doesn't impress as much, but that has more to do with the limitations (blockiness) of the Minecraft engine than any lack of talent on your part. Although you get better results if you tweak the textures to better suit your needs (the bookshelves over the beds in crew quarters, for instance, should probably be replaced by something more... sci-fi). But don't get me wrong, this is a great build and I can't wait to see the completed product (and, dare I dream, might there be a download?)

Thank you! Yes the interior is always a pain. The hull is better than the saucer do to the fact is was built 3 years later but blocks do impose limitations. My next build will probably use the minetrek pack to improve this. Hopefully a download will be out by Sunday if my work schedule permits.

I whole-heartedly recommend using commands to whip up custom player heads. Using a resource like freshcoal, you can find heads that look like computers, food, etc. All you have to do is paste the command the site gives you into a command block, then activate it with a button. You can see this in the Star Trek/Halo build I just worked on. Alternatively, there is a site to turn images into custom map items. If you put them in item frames, you can have high resolution images (for minecraft anyway) in your world with a texture pack. I used that for the LCARS screens in the previously mentioned build. Hopefully those two tips will help you with your interiors!

Sounds pretty cool! I think it would certainly help with science labs!

Very well done! Kinda reminds me of the Enterprise refit.

Thanks! I first thought of the build as a mash of the Enterprise Refit and a Miranda-class starship, but with a larger secondary hull and a focus on combat.
