To construct this project, satellite images and videos of North Korean collective farms were used to attain rough estimates for the dimensions of the buildings. The apartments and houses are based on those present at the Chongsan-ri Cooperative Farm and were built at a 1:1 scale. Each home supports two families, with a room for each. While exact plans of the buildings were unavailable, interior tour videos helped layout the inside of the homes.
