An upright player piano brought to life in Minecraft!
This is made in vanilla creative mode with no mods or commands.
Stone walls can be used as tileable vertical instant wire and activated by observers and trapdoors. I use this mechanic to encode the music, one note at a time. This is similar to how a real player piano would work with a punch sheet, or you could think of it like a music box.
The rightmost foot pedal can be toggled, which enables an echo or reverb effect. The middle pedal mutes the piano. I haven't thought of a use for the other yet.
Note 1: I set "Blocks" sound volume to 20% to muffle the pistons, but it isn't necessary. Note block sound travels further than piston noise, so if you are on the platform, you can hear the notes but not the pistons.
Note 2: I found a typo in the Read Me book, it says "must" instead of "Mute" There were some other small typos and it was missing some info so I've rewritten and reuploaded the fix.
Musical credit goes to the various artists, I do not take any credit for writing any of the music.
Song List:
Für Elise by Ludwig Van Beethoven
The Entertainer by Scott Joplin
Avril 14th by Aphex Twin
Wet Hands by C418
Sweden by C418
Gymnopédie No 1 by Erik Satie
Reverie by Claude Debussy

Update #5 I did a bit of an overhaul and added a few features and songs. : by Meat_Mallet 06/24/2024 11:51:55 pmJun 24th, 2024
I layered some different note block tones and octaves together to get a more complete piano sound. I'm pretty happy with the sound.
I added two song!
Für Elise and The Entertainer
Since the code walls are getting further and further away, songs were taking longer to activate, problem solved by replacing the wiring with instant wire.
