ABOUT:
After the Falklands War ended she was modernized and returned to commercial service for the 'Golden Eagle Lines.' In her later career she rammed her own Tender, the MV Vallejo and cut this boat in two pieces. Due to this mistake 3 people died on board of the Vallejo. In 1997 the Zodiac was ready to make her last commercial voyage from New York to Southampton and then to be scrapped at Alang. In New York thousends of people wanted to say "Farewell Zodiac" for the last time as the ship slides away from the quay. The Zodiac was very profitable through her lifetime, but at the end the nuclear power plant made her to scrap metal, because such ships cannot sail longer than 30 years. At the end the Zodiac was the iconic queen of Australia for almost 30 years.
