A huge project I'm working on at the moment, basically building everything that in some way is connected with Russia in one big map :D. I tried Soviet stuff before, now I decided to get a little back in time to see what was going on there, so to speak, to the Russian Empire.
Description:
An old church located somewhere near Saint Petersburg in Russia, on the pictures you can see that not only the church is on the map, but I decided not to reveal everything at once :D. So only the church for now.
I took the reference from a real life stone church, that was constructed in the Belaya village in the year 1797 in place of the old wooden one, which burned down after a lightning strike. The construction had been going on for 10 years and was funded by residents. With time, the numbers of residents grew, and the church became too small for the parish, and it was decided to build additional wings; the left one was completed in the year 1824, while the right part was completed in 1830. In addition to that, a 48 meter (around 157 feet) tall bell tower was constructed in the year 1824.
The church was shut down in the 1930s and was later used as a storage facility.
In the year 1995, the church was included in the list of architectural landmarks of the Kirov region.
Additional Information:
To be honest, I've built a lot of structures on this map already, so this church might be the 100th building among all those other ones, however, after I built it, the area kind of changed, and it looks worse without it, like something was missing. Churches in Russia is an important element of architecture of the country and its history.
I didn't design the building itself, it's an already existing building, however, what's outside of it, is of my own creation :D
- The landscape was made by me as well.
- The map was built in 1:1 scale, using World Edit
If you like what you see, make sure to let me know about this by giving a diamond, thank you!
(For Minecraft 1.17+)
Special thanks to Anna Korob, who's doing an amazing job of showing abandoned parts of Russia, and letting people know about those places through her pictures and research :D I used her images and research, make sure to follow her here:
