In 1949, after the founding of the Federal Republic, Palais Schaumburg was the first Federal Chancellery of the FRG. It was used in the first years for reception and representation purposes The first Chancellor Konrad Adenauer and the Chancellors Ludwig Erhard, Kurt Georg Kiesinger, Willy Brandt worked there. The 5th Chancellor Helmut Schmidt moved out of the office in protest in 1976 after the completion of the new Chancellor's Office, which was planned after the Palais could no longer accommodate new staff. Today, Palais Schaumburg is the second residence of Germany's chancellors. This replica of Palais Schaumburg shows its condition in 1949 under Konrad Adenauer.

Das Palais Schaumburg war 1949 nach der Gründung der Bundesrepublik das erste Bundeskanzleramt der BRD. Es wurde in den ersten Jahren zu Empfangs- und Repräsentationszwecken genutzt. Der erste Bundeskanzler, Konrad Adenauer und die Kanzler Ludwig Erhard, Kurt Georg Kiesinger, Willy Brandt arbeiteten dort. Der 5. Bundeskanzler Helmut Schmidt zog 1976 nach der Fertigstellung des neuen Kanzleramts, das geplant wurde, nachdem das Palais keinen Platz mehr für neue Mitarbeiter bot, unter Protest in dieses um. Heute ist das Palais Schaumburg zweitsitz der deutschen Bundeskanzler. Diese Nachbildung des Palais Schaumburg zeigt den Zustand von 1949 unter Konrad Adenauer.
