This project is a vast maze-like Persian city-palace complex, similar to the game environments in the Prince of Persia series (palace of Azad, Island of Time, city of Babylon...). The final project will be an eclectic combination of Persian, Mesopotamian and Andalusian architecture.

Some sources of inspiration are the Sassanid-era ruins of Ctesiphon, Andalusian palaces in Spain (the Alhambra of Granada, Aljafería of Zaragoza, Alcázar of Seville, etc), the citadel gate in Alepo (Syria), the Ben Youssef madrasa in Marrakesh (Morocco), a few mosques and other public buildings in Shiraz, Kashan and Isfahan (Iran), many Prince of Persia levels (Sands of Time Trilogy) and idealized reconstructions of ancient Babylon.

There are mods for Minecraft 1.10.2 being used on this map:

BuildingBricks

ExpansionMod
Rustic Mod

Quartzly
CustomNPCs

BiomesOPlenty 1.9.4-4.1.0.2033 (*) The bone block I'm using for pillars was removed in more recent versions of this mod.

The project is still work in progress, it may take a very long time before I finally upload the project.

I'm looking forward to any feedback, comments and/or suggestions.

Please tell me this is still a thing. This would be given full credit and be an ABSOLUTELY amazing spawn if given permission to use... just phenomenal.. other then it having dependency issues for peoplew ithout mods

Thanks! Though the map is not intended to work as a server spawn. As you probably imagined, the palace area of the map is heavily modded, and I can't help but wonder how a public server could run under these conditions.

Also, keep in mind that this project works only on Forge 1.10.2. There are two reasons why I'm not updating the project. Firstly, some developers have ceased updating mods I'm using; and secondly, some updated mods remove content from the 1.10.2. version (Bone segments and gem blocks, from Biomes O' Plenty). There's little I can do about it since I know nothing about modding.

So yeah, at first I tried to avoid using mods, but limiting oneself to vanilla content makes it impossible to add in some recurring features in Persian and Islamic architecture, like horseshoe arches and such.

Thanks! I'll update the project blog from time to time; and I was also considering the possibility of uploading finished areas of the final build to showcase its progress...

I'm of Persian descent, so I know a thing or two about Persian architecture. You didn't do good.

Thanks! It'll probably take me a long time to upload a decent downloadable project, since I'm working on this alone and only when I happen to have some spare time.
