Overview:


This piece is the first of six in a big project called “Podiums”. This is a build made for a custom mob survival server. It features a broken down shrine surrounded by overgrowth. Upon entering the shrine, you will be met with a custom mob fight.


In-Depth Artist Statement:


The shrine is primarily made out of stone bricks. It is textured with cobblestone, mossy cobblestone, cracked stone bricks, mossy stone bricks and chiseled stone bricks. It is decorated with normal and mossy cobblestone walls, stone brick stairs, smooth stone slabs, and stone buttons.. The middle of the shrine features a beacon in the middle. The walls of the shrines were created with the materials listed above as well as cobblestone and stone brick slabs to create a worn, broken down look. Lastly, the shrine has broken down archways to accentuate the idea of an “old, broken down” shrine.

The outside of the shrine features an overgrown, naturalistic feel. The pathways are textured with coarse dirt, podzol, light gray concrete powder, smooth stone slabs, and cobblestone slabs and stairs. Custom trees and bushes made out of oak log, spruce fence, slab, and oak leaves surround the shrine. Vines surround the outside of the shrine and wrap around the broken archway. Different types of grasses and flowers are then used to texture the outside to complete the “overgrown” feel.
