So I decided to take a hand at making a Turf Wars for Mineplex. Will be posting it on the Mineplex forum in an attempt to get it accepted. After I hear back from them, I'll swap progress to 100% and possibly release a download. Til then, here's what to expect.
Mineplex Post I made:
This map is basically an idea of a desert warzone that players would be challenged to get across. There are multiple things to hide behind on this map, all of which you can shoot from with relative ease. There is also a water hazard players must get across, and this can be accomplished either by using the provided bridge or by jumping from shore to shore using simple parkour. The only main flaw in the design is that people could possibly be stuck under the bridge temporarily when the borders change, A vantage point can be gained by taking the area with the river, allowing for slight cover from enemy fire, as well as making life harder for Infiltrators. Also, I have made it potentially easier for people to fight back when they start losing, as players now have a vantage point accessible by ladders inside spawn, a boon for Marksman and possibly Shredders. Now I will list things notable for the classes.
Marksman: Marksman have a large advantage on this map. A lot of combat will most likely be long ranged, and they shall have an easier time at picking off the closer-ranged Infiltrators and the fort-wrecking Shredders. However, a clear disadvantage is the amount of hiding places and cover Marksmen have on this map, making shots a little harder in an all-bow battle.
Infiltrator: Infiltrators probably have the most disadvantages on this map. Seeing as the bridge will probably be blocked with wool from both sides, they will either have to quickly sprint across the bridge (right past possible enemies and into an obvious point of fire), or head down towards the river and climb the other side. The more obvious issues here are heavy fire into the trench from both sides, as well as the river and other Infiltrators attempting to get across. However, one distinct advantage the Infiltrator has is the ability to hide under the bridge and get behind the enemy once they move the border past the bridge. Also, for the team whose border took the bridge, this allows for the Infiltrators to run across and have an easier time reaching the enemy side (remember, this map mostly had bowmen in mind).
Shredder: Shredders might be a slight MVP for this map, seeing as it would be very easy to create essentially "walled-off" areas by combing wool with existing structures. They would also probably be useful for taking the bridge, seeing as how players will most likely wall that area off. However, some of the standard disadvantages of being a Shredder will most likely still apply.
EDIT: Sadly, it didnt get picked. Something about it needing another way across the river to prevent chokepoints (which I fail to see how, seeing as how the jumps to get across the water are easy). Putting up a download of the map now.

It should be surrounded by large sand walls
working on the submission form for Mineplex at the moment. Here's hoping they add it :)
