Pride of Baltimore [REAL SHIP]

This is the Pride of Baltimore. It is a United States top sail schooner built originally in 1812.
The original ship on which the 2 replica's are based was used as a privateer during the war of 1812.
The ships captain had a letter of marque, which means she could be used to capture enemy (British) ships.
During the war the pride captured at least 18 ships.

In 1977 a replica was built. It sank in 1986 in the Atlantic ocean.
A second replica was built in 1988, which is still operated today.
