...with no way out. The miners of a small NPC village north of spawn were just about to evacuate and get to the surface before the incoming zombie raid, when the pistons of the small elevator failed. The engineer had died a week ago when he stumbled into a mob spawner, so the miners were left to fight for themselves. They were out of supplies and their redstone and torches were burning up quickly.

...by those from the surface. Because of Notch cursing the mob's with everlasting pain in the daylight, they were forced to seek shelter underground. But when a zombie is attacked by one of the miners from the surface, they new they had to fight for their freedom to live in peace.
