Level 39 : Artisan Sailor
My latest project is a large scale Queen Mary! I am currently in the process of working on interior spaces, so be sure to subscribe and check back for updates!

This version of the QM is how she appeared on 27 March 1936, just before her maiden voyage. In my collection I have several pictures of the QM in the King George V Graving Dock during this time that I tried to replicate here, when she was opened to the public for the first time. The dock and surround areas are still being built, but I felt it was time to update the download since it hasn't been updated for 2 years, and much progress has been made. I used original builder's plans for every aspect of the ship, including all the winches and cranes, windows, doors, stairs, and the lifeboats and davits. This is the most accurate QM that you will find on PMC, so I hope you enjoy!

When she is completely finished I will. Until then she's gonna be drydocked
It will be in a few hours. I'm working on current renders and screenshots of it before updating

great.... the mirror download has been deleted..... whhyyyy?
My apologies! I’ll get it fixed later today. I will also be updating the download at the end of this month; the original download is 2+ years old and very outdated. Many additions and improvements have been made since then so please hold on a little bit longer!

Great job! Btw, I was just wondering if the download is updated yet.
Download updated ;)
Unfortunately no, I haven't updated the download yet. I don't want to update it until the interior is fully complete. I've made a lot of progress on it lately and should probably post another update to the log....
Long live the Queen of the Sea
do yo make a download with interiors ? im a really fan from the qm and you have the best one on pmc in your scale it was so amazing when you make a download link with all interiors :D
Download updated ;)
I am slowly working on doing interior for her. When the interior is complete, I will update the download with the interior and the King George V graving dock I built for her :)
I love how it has the sheer and camber!!
Very inspiring! Keep up the good work. :)

Woah! A download! Do you have the PC version of Minecraft now? You should transfer your 1:1 Queen Mary to PC (by copying it block by block) or make a new version of it in 1:1 scale (since you have gotten so much better at building). I would kill for a good downloadable 1:1 Queen Mary with an interior because I've been looking for one for years and found yours (which is definitely the best), but it didn't have a download! Most of them out there aren't very good looking and lack interiors. This would be a dream come true!
Late reply :P

Yes, I have the PC version of Minecraft now haha. Rather than rebuilding my 1:1 QM or building a new one, I decided on something much better. I started doing an interior for this QM :D No idea when it will be done, but trust me, it will be amazing ;)

Haha. It's alright. And that's awesome! Can't wait to see it :) Although, it would be nice to also have the 1:1 to fit in my 1:1 Terminal/City. I really don't want to be pushy though. So you do what you feel like doing :)

Oh, and the SS United States would be nice too xD
well believe it or not, i actually have an old version of my 1:1 QM on PC, but it is super old, like from when i finished the ship for the first time, without all the additions i made to her after completion. i could sometime make the changes ti that one as well and add a download for it, but since i am devoted to working on the 3:1 now, i don't think i will do that for quite some time. :/

It will happen eventually though, I promise ^.^
pls give your old SSUS out for download. Its a really good SS Unites States.

Well sub, that is awesome, but: 1st, he builds on Xbox one, and second... Look at this, sub -snabbserver.com/forum/index.php?topic=639.0
(Sorry Equlirbrlu/BackOutAndJohn, if I'm not right, so if you build on a PC platform, you are welcome on the server!)
Haha I do build on PC now, yes, as well as Xbox One. I've been on snabbserver once or twice I think, quite a while ago, and if you read the post there it was just an issue with someone's client not updating. That is the only server I've ever joined other than my own personal server, and I prefer to play on mine :/

Very nice work - I love the way you've captured the lines of the hull. The sweeping curve along the length of the ship is lovely. :)

I know exactly what you mean with 4:1 and the height limit - I've had to choose my own 4:1 subjects fairly carefully so that I don't run out of room, and it ruled out a few ships that I'd have liked to do.

With the rigging, I find it helps if you make it from a less noticeable block. I've had good results with glass blocks. They're still visible, but because of the transparancy they look a fair bit fainter (and I think more realistic), especially from a distance. That way you can get more rigging in without it coming to dominate the build. Though of course that will depend to an extent on the resource pack.
Thanks! I had a hard time deciding what I wanted to do for the rigging. On my 1:1 ships I always use black stained glass, but since this is a larger scale I thought I'd be able to get away with using a full block. I didn't want to use cobwebs like many other people do, it just doesn't feel right to me. Glass seemed kind of odd for this scale so I just went with black stained clay. It does stand out a bit more, but I still like the look. I like your ships as well, you just earned a new sub ;)

awesome job!! I love RMS Queen Mary!when will the download be ready? i would love to see this with my own eyes.
where did you get the plans i cant find the lines plan anywhere?
The only thing I have left to do on it now is just put in the portholes on the hull, so maybe tomorrow because I have to work today :P

The plans I have are extremely hard to come by, and they are SUPER SUPER detailed. Unfortunately, the source that I got my plans from requires me not to share them anywhere :P However, there are other plans of the ship that are very good which you can view here: http://www.sterling.rmplc.co.uk/visions/decks.html

hope this helps. Thanks for the comment!
