Bonjour, voici l'avancée sur mon projet de reconstruction de la cathédrale de Strasbourg à travers les âges pour mettre en évidence ses évolutions 🙂
Nous sommes en 1046. La cathédrale de Strasbourg vient d'être achevée sous les ordres de l'évêque Werner, cathédrale qui est déjà un exploit pour l'époque de part ses proportions gigantesques! Cette nouvelle cathédrale va cependant être la proie de vents violents allant briser la flèche de la tour du chevet au XIIe siècle. Mais l’édifice sera surtout victime de nombreux incendies, dont les parties endommagées sont remplacées par de nouvelles installations faisant preuve des techniques les plus modernes de cette époque. Le style ottonien va donc dériver lentement vers un style roman, progression accélérée par les intempéries dont le plus violent incendie ravagea l’édifice vers 1176. Voyant le bâtiment ruiné, on décida de débuter un vrai projet de reconstruction...
Hello, here is the progress on my project of reconstruction of the cathedral of Strasbourg through the ages to highlight its evolutions 🙂
We are in 1046. The cathedral of Strasbourg has just been completed under the orders of the bishop Werner, a cathedral which is already a feat for the time because of its gigantic proportions! This new cathedral will however fall prey to violent winds breaking the spire of the chevet tower in the 12th century. But the building will be especially victim of many fires, whose damaged parts are replaced by new installations showing the most modern techniques of this time. The Ottonian style will thus slowly drift towards a Romanesque style, a progression accelerated by the bad weather whose most violent fire ravaged the building around 1176. Seeing the building ruined, it was decided to start a real reconstruction project...
