This project is a long-term project that has been taking place over the past several months or so and represents the capital city of the Royal Ecclesiastic Nation of Anacostia (seeing a pattern here?) on the RP server I am Co-Founder of called Caelteria.
We feature such mods as Noppe's NPC and More Player Models mod, Ars Magica, Pam's HarvestCraft, Thaumcraft, and more. In lore terms the city is a couple thousand years old and has survived numerous earthquakes, fires, and floods but has never fallen to enemy forces because of the nation's status in the world as a chief exporter of grain. The style is a mixture of ecclesiastic Renaissance and Victorian architecture and represents the culmination of my building abilities to date.
The city is composed of several district which include: the palace, merchants district, the Temple of Kyndver, the noble house district, and then a few undecided areas. The city is built largely with marble blocks which I have included by using a custom texture pack and McPatcher as well as custom blocks brought in using forge. The city is also unique in that it also features a large garden area as it's center as well as having the whole city gardened. I feel rather proud of it so far though I haven't furnished all too many buildings yet. Lorewise, Anacostia is the capital city of a monotheistic ecclesiastic nation lead by a religious leader known as Pope Medreau Seventus XIV and his council of cardinals which each take care of a respective department. Lore about the nation itself can be found on the site Here. Unfortunately, you will need an Enjin account to view the lore, but it literally takes just a few moments to join. Anyways! The city's progress is rather slow because for the past few months, it has just been me on this project with minor help from my friends. I will try to update it at least once a week, but I make no promises. ^_^
The texture pack is a custom pack assembled by my fiance for use on the server and features several custom textures for the new blocks we have been using since 1.2-ish. It is 16x but I feel that the merits of its blocky but still-detailed charm outweigh the fact that it is lower resolution compared to 32 or higher.
I now use a composite 32 and 64x texture pack which makes the details really stand out nicely now.
Please do comment and give constructive feedback. I will be posting other projects that I am working in the coming weeks hopefully. Don't be afraid to ask me questions, I am usually available to talk to.
UPDATE: Finished another noble house and some minor buildings. Added picture for noble house.
UPDATE 2: Finally got working on my city again, and we have settled all the lore and worlds now. I've added several buildings and refined my style.
UPDATE 3: Finished most of the upper class and middle class areas of the city, have added some npcs and it is now open to the public on the server.
UPDATE 4+: Decided to use update logs instead.

Update #8 : by Miss_Jillian 08/20/2013 7:47:32 pmAug 20th, 2013
Fiddling with shop npc's, I want prices to be competitive but not so much that resale can yield huge profits. Also laying out space for more basements and I am thinking of adding small boats docked at the boardwalk. Possible chance for a zoo of sorts even.
