Atlantikwall :

"In fact there are two Atlantic Walls, an Allied propagandistic "translation" of Atlantikwall, meaning Atlantic Rampart. The first is the name of the construction programme launched in August 1942 envisaging the complete defense of the coasts of Holland, Belgium and France by 15.000 permanent fortifications.
The second Atlantiwall is a product of German propaganda. From early 1943 onward the whole of the defences along the coasts of Norway, Denmark, the German North Sea-isles, the Netherlands, Belgium and France were called the Atlantic Wall, an integrated system, constructed well enough to withstand any Allied attack, landing or invasion. This propaganda wall comprised not only the entire western and nothern coastal defences, but also harbour installations such as the U-boat bunkers and the fortifications that had been built well before 1943."
