Very good
There will be wreckage of it across the map in the future.
You can actually follow the development step by step on the Trello page.
Is there anything else you think I should add? Or stuff I should improve?
I am definitely interested in trying to. Eventually.
I appreciate the offer, but because of how all over the place my schedule is, it would be too difficult right now for me to work with a team on this.
I really appreciate the offer, and I'm glad you enjoy the map! That means a lot.

The first of many!
So years ago, when I was starting this project. I came up with some basic dimensions for the size of the chunks. I wanted a large map that felt like you were on a Halo ring, but not so large that I could never finish it. Plus I was limited by the power of my computer at the time.
I also wanted the terrain to curve. Not too much, as that would make it unplayable (that's what happened to version 2 of this map), but just enough for players to notice.
So, after coming up with the size and shape, I spent a long time finding the right world. I generated and explored a lot of maps.
Once I found the one I liked, I had to make the game generate the correct amount of chunks. Once that was done, I went into McEdit and literally cut the world into slices. Then I pasted the slices in order, in another world. Each slice would be a single block higher or lower than the previous, thus creating the "curve". Once that was done, I added the walls along the edge, and then used McEdit and world edit to carve and shape the terrain since then.
Basically, I used a lot of brute force. :D
Though I am a little worried about the banished. I like them, and I think it will be cool to fight them, but I'm worried about 343 just throwing the created away. I think Halo 5's campaign was awful. I don't like what they did with Cortana and the created. But they did it. Halo 5 is cannon. So they need to do something with that. There a a few cool ways they could go with that, at least that I can think of. I just really hope they don't just hand wave them away. That would be so awful.
As for the graphics, since everyone is talking about them. I actually don't think they're that bad. It was a demo, definitely not a finished product.
I think the textures need a bit of work, they look too flat, and kind of plastic like, but it was an earlier build, and I trust that will look great by the time it's released.
Maybe that's just me being hopeful, but say what you will about what 343 has done with Halo, no one can deny that 4 and 5 looked amazing. I'm just not worried that 343 will mess up the graphics, I'm more worried about story. They need to hit a home run with this one, and I think they know that.
Here's that interview I mentioned if you're interested. https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/news/infinite-inquiries
But Do You Have A Time When The Next Update Come's Out?
Oh Yea!
Its Time To Fight!

Edit: It Didnt Work
I'm finally in a situation where I can spend more time working on the next update. I should hopefully have a new version for download, here in the next few weeks.
I apologize for how long it is taking. Life has been rough the last year. But I am making slow and steady progress.
I update the trello page pretty regularly. This next update is going to be very large.
As for the second suggestion, in future updates I will definitely be adding more subsurface rooms and facilities, many of which will have hidden story elements. Atmosphere will be the focus of these spaces.
Do you have any questions so far?
Would it be possible to reskin Diamond armor to look like ODST armor? Or make the shield look like a hard light shield?
What texture pack did you use for the water in the screenshots.
Yes and yes. I am going to try and have a decent amount of weapons from the games in this map. I can't tell you exactly which ones yet, but there will be a few.
The water in the screenshots are actually from shaderpacks. The ones I used the most are, BSL, and SEUS-Renewed. If you're computer can handle it, I would highly recommend you play the map with one of those shaders, as it really brings the map to life.
As for the actual water textures, they're just default.
I love the attention to detail in this map. The structures are incredible and I enjoy exploring each one.
Wish there was a way to continue the ring, as the water begins to 'bend' it would show a faux Halo continuing onward, and if you pass the boundary it would teleport you to the edge of the other section.
It's funny you mention that, because there actually are already a few journals hidden throughout the map, with MANY more to come!
And there will be more UNSC crash sites, as well as a ship in the future. Specifically the UNSC Dark Phoenix.
There are going to be a lot more things that expand and explore the lore. This map will be deep in the lore of the Halo universe.
Thank you so much! That really means a lot to me! I'm glad you're enjoying it so much.
Yeah, I unfortunately have not found a way to do that in Minecraft. The best I have is the "curve" the map already has that you mentioned.
That's not a bad idea. However, I'm not sure if you have found it yet, but there are structures to teleport between the two parts of the map.
Also send me a link to the server once it's up!
