Shadow Colosseum | PvP/Boss Arena πŸŒ‘ Minecraft Map

Step into the Shadow Colosseum, its eerie atmosphere and tinted glass clouds make the map feel otherworldly, almost like being in a different dimension. As you fight your battles, floating rocks (block display entities) will orbit the arena, making the arena feel alive and haunting.

Challenge your friends in the ultimate spectral PvP arena.
Any version at or above 1.21.4 works (as of 1.21.6)

Recommended Settings (What I did in the screenshots)

1. Set block lighting to the maximum (3x)

2. Set fog to bare minimum (very subtle)

3. Set general brightness to the max (2.8)

4. Remove cave fog

I really liked the arena style of one of my boss fights, but it doesn't hold up visually so I drastically improved it and made one of the most beautiful arenas on the website (Major changes listed at below)

Changes

1.) Added glowing cracks in the surrounding terrain

2.) Added engravings into the pillars

3.) Made the colosseum a lower height so that the sky is more visible

4.) Added end rods scattered throughout the arena

5.) Added block display entity's that orbit the arena, making it feel magical

- Block types: basalt, cracked deepslate bricks

- Blocks rotate slowly while orbiting

6.) Gave the terrain a better shape

7.) Gave the terrain a better texture of obsidian, black concrete, and black concrete powder

8.) Added rings into the pit

9.) Improved the lighting
- The lighting in the "bottomless pit" now fades better

- Each ring is now lit up at the top
- The sky is brighter and more alive

10.) The Arena is a lower size so that standard render distances can render the whole area

11.) The glowing purple lights in the sky have far better shapes, that represent lightning scattering, which makes it feel stormy

12.) The sky is lowered to make it more visible

13.) Added engravings into the pit

14.) The distance between the pillars is lower, making the arena feel more like a solid structure

15.) The pit is much deeper and mysterious

16.) Outside pillars are shorter and at a far more visually appealing scale

17.) Added some crying obsidian details in the structure

Update #3 : by Tape_Eater 07/09/2025 3:00:38 pmJuly 9 @ 7:00 pm UTC

1. Added a button to kill the armor stand that controls the orbiting blocks, and one to spawn it
2. Made the armorstands position relative to the arena, rather at a set point, for instance if you were to copy and move the arena to different coordinates, the armorstand should still be at the center of the arena.

3. Added instructions on how to import the floating blocks into a new world
