Sigismund's Column (Polski: Columna Zigmunta) was originally created in 1644 in Warsaw, Poland. The column was built to commemorate Sigismund III Vasa, the king who moved Poland's capital from Kraków to Warsaw. The 2.7 meter high statue is a sculpture of the King Sigismund III, where he is shown holding a Cross (to symbolize devoutness) in one hand, and a sword (to symbolize his protection of the realm) in the other.
The latin inscription on the side of the column reads:
HONORI·ET·PIETATI
SACRAM·STATVAM·HANC·SIGISMVNDO·III·VLADISLAVS·IV
NATURA·AMORE·GENIO·FILIVS
ELECTIONE·SERIE·FELICITATE·SVCCESSOR
VOTO·ANIMO·CVLTV·GRATVS
PATRI·PATRIAE·PARENTI·OPT: MER: ANNO·DNI·MDCXLIII PONI·IVSSIT·CVI·IAM
GLORIA·TROPHEVM·POSTERITAS·GRATITVDINEM
AETERNITAS·MONVMENTVM·POSVIT·AVT·DEBET
I cannot translate it exactly, but my rough guess from the words I got is it is telling about the King Sigismund III and the glory he brought Poland, and also the date it was erected.
Thank you for reading :)
