Skyrim - Riverwood

I started building Riverwood from the game Skyrim brick by brick. I already finished the tavern compleatly for a different server-project on my server. Now I copied the tavern to another area and start with terraforming and other buildings from the game. I installed skyrim so I can lookup for details and also use a map to make the buildings as exact as possible.

Those screenshots show the tavern in the environment of the first project - more screenshots will follow soon.

Skyrim - Flusswald

Update #13 : 02/21/2017 9:52:30 am2/21/17

Just a little update: Months has passed and I went on with terraforming - I also integrated the "statue of merida" into the mountains behind Riverwood. I know that's not correct since the statue is high in the north, but I needed something... so there're not only mountains... :D

But the major thing: I started to modify the decoration more accurate. Since the server where I build this project can modify ArmorStands I started to use modded ArmorStands and since now, we can also use custom maps there, well... guess what - I started using them :D Checkout the second and the third screenshot: They're both from the tavern "The Sleeping Giant", but I'm sure you see the difference. I think the original banner fits perfectly into the scene...

Update #12 : 08/07/2016 8:06:59 pm8/07/16

Another update which probably force me to split this project soon - I added the Pelagia Farm in a nice spot and this is really a part which doesnt belong to Riverwood anymore. The project turned into a skyrim-inspired region where I add skyrim-buildings or cities which are made as similar as possible, but it's not only riverwood anymore. So wait for some new projects by myself around skyrim ;)

I added a picture of the status of Pelagia Farm to the images...

Update #11 : 07/12/2016 8:47:14 am7/12/16

High Hrothgar:

Since I work on the terraforming since ages now I decided to add High Hrothgar to the "Throat of the Worl"-Mountain. Of course the proportions of the highness of the hill wont be correct, but I still think it'll fit well in the scenery. I added one screenshot without any shader or detailed work from the main room of High Hrothgar so you get an impression what'll come :)

Update #10 : 03/30/2016 5:20:48 pm3/30/16

Landscape Update II:

After 6 months I post another update with lots of new screenshots: I did tons of terraforming and finished the village. Since the everything is survival this take a while. Several mountains are already build in the basic shape. One is finished. The terraforming around the village isn't 100% identical to skyrim - well you know, the size :D It's not possible to do it 100% accurate, but I do my best. Hope I can present the "Throat of the World" next time.

Update #9 : 09/03/2015 3:54:29 am9/03/15

Landscape Update:

Finally, the nature in the south of riverwood is almost finished - only little details are missing.

Like I told I made the part from the lake where the guardian stones are to riverwood a lot shorter, but I wanted to add those - and now I did it. The large waterfall is not inspired by skyrim, but it fits.

I also started building the mountains in the west. I make them massive because I think of building the Bleak Falls Barrow tohether with the little tower in front of it, too.

I added lots of new screenshots to show you the process and deleted some old ones with interior of the houses.

Update #8 : 09/01/2015 7:04:39 am9/01/15

Terraforming, terraforming, terraforming...

I made more terraforming around the village of flusswald - I have to start to change the nature from skyrim-style to minecraft-style and find a good transition between the two. In shortened the way which is supposed to go to Helgen and will also use the guardian stones as gimmic in the landscape. The river starts with a waterfall, goes into a lake and then split up - one part goes into the near swamp-lands, the other part goes to Flusswald.

You can see all the progress in the Screenshot "Riverwood - Progress 01.09"

Lookout for the next update - then this area is probably done :)

Update #7 : 08/24/2015 7:10:25 pm8/24/15

The last three houses from riverwood that I had to build weren't rectanglular anymore but a bit oblique. I wanted to take over the orientation of the buildings and so I had to work on such oblique buildings in minecraft - which were really difficult.

But now I managed it: Two houses and the final city wall are finished. You can see the actual process in the screenshot "Riverwood - Progress 25.08"

Now? Well Riverwood isn't done yet. Three buildings are still empty and I have to finish the interior. And the terraforming is also a large part. I also plan to let a friend build a dragon on top of the mountain and add some caves there - we will see. :)

Anyways: I'm just happy that I could build those houses :D

Update #6 : 08/23/2015 3:23:16 am8/23/15

Another update: All main houses are almost done now. Interior is missing and the last city-wall. I also started with the terraforming around the city. Since this is survival I cant make giant mountains, but I plan a mountain with a dragon on it - you know where ;)

The Screenshot with the title "Riverwood - Progress 23.08" shows the progress

Update #5 : 08/07/2015 9:47:53 am8/07/15

Didnt have time to build a lot the last weeks - but still two new buildings are finished now.

Added a screenshot of those: The wall in the east and the large building in the east of riverwood.

Update #4 : 06/11/2015 6:08:11 pm6/11/15

I added three screenshots with the actual progress: I did a hell lot of Terraforming so you can see the basic shape of the whole area now. I also created a few new buildings and the island in the river next to Riverwood is almost finished. Hope you like it :)

Update #3 : 06/09/2015 7:50:41 am6/09/15

Added new Screenshots of the blacksmith and the merchants house.

Neue Screenshots vom Schmied und vom Händler hinzugefügt.

Update #2 : 06/08/2015 4:12:39 pm6/08/15

I created a few new custom decoration heads so I can add more details to the project.
In the screenshots there's a cauldron with soup and a wicker basket as example...

Ich habe noch einige Dekorations-Köpfe gezeichnet um mehr Details zum Projekt hinzufügen zu können.
In den Screenshots ist ein Kessel mit Suppe und ein Weidenkorb als Beispiel...

07.06 - Blacksmith Building : 06/07/2015 6:30:49 am6/07/15

A little update (one new Screenshot) showing the basic building of the blacksmith in the new region. You can see the tavern to the right, too - outside of the region where it was build now in the new landscape. Of course there still has to be a lot of terraforming.

Ein kleines update (neuer Screenshot) der das Rohgebäude des Schmieds zeigt. Rechts ist die Taverne sichtbar, außerhalb der bisherigen Region. Natürlich muss noch eine Menge Terraforming getätigt werden.

It looks different without shaders. By the way, is there a chance that you can rebuild the Guardian Stones?

Erm, funny - I already created them, but my version is different from the version in the game. The stones are not really "made for minecraft" :D I'll make a project on them in the next few weeks ;)

Those are so nice. Keep working then! :)
Don't know if you want to do this, but a cool idea would be eventually create all of skyrim, and possibly even tamriel, but that's up to you. Nice work though

That's a joke I guess :D But I'll watch out for the interesting parts :D

I needed one year for a small village and I work without Worldedit and Voxel for the terraforming ;)
Good luck man!!

I'm planning to finish it. I just dont upload updates because it's just terraforming what I do - and since this is a vanilla-project it's damn much work and I also got a server to administrate ;)
It's been a year since you started to build Riverwood. And everyday, I have opened your project page. You made me play Skyrim again for a while. And now you are still not done. :/ Keep working, brother.
(I lost my account, so I couldn't subscribe, like etc. Sorry.)

Wow that's nice from you :)

Well I still keep working, but updates of my server (1.9, now 1.10) keep me busy so I got not that much time for survival. Right now the large mountain in the east of Skyrim is in the making, hope I can show you something soon.

thanks for the offer, but I run a minecraft-server, that's a fulltime-job for me freetime already.
I'm lucky that i can build this project in survival anyway, but there's no way for me to join a building-team and run the server. So sorry - cant take the offer.
This make my play Skyrim again! Thank you dude!
Looking good :)
