This is my new Minecraft project. I'll be using it in an upcoming space adventure map. It's a Star Trek inspired ship interior.
Features (lots of redstone)

1) TEXTURE PACK - This is my first priority.
a) Sound effects (maybe, if i can find some to use and figure out how to add them.)
2) Transporter room improvements and a nice way to transport back to the ship.
3) Working holodeck This is finished.
4) Shuttle craft outside of the main ship
5) Custom enemies
6) Story line.
Version 2 updates

1)Some texture pack items are finished. The texture pack is included in the download. I'm not the greatest at editing teeny tiny png files. I'll be practicing.
2)The holodeck is finished. There's a holographic combat training sim. (lots more redstone) Stop by the armory before trying it out. It can be tough.

4) Prevented squid from spawning in the cooling system

Again, a very good job.
Loved the automatic opening doors bit; very much reminiscent of Star Trek. The beacon for a transport beam was clever. The holodeck was I am sure a monsterous undertaking. An amazing amount of redstone and command blocks. I get tired just thinking about it. A thought, could you copy the area in MCEdit and change the block ID's to air, thus setting up a reset of it?
I thought of a fun game mechanic. Two players, one manning a transporter room, one being transported. Offer buttons for site to site transporter commands to get the other player from one section to another. IE transport them to cargo bay for this item, then a button to transport to Engineering. Populate the various rooms heavily with mobs allowing for emergency transports out and such. It just seems like it might be fun.

There's a filter for MCedit that allows you to select a structure and create a command block array that will create that structure using setblock commands. That's how i did the holodeck. The star field and lasers were hand made.
You are correct that there is a lot of redstone. It's why i might not finish the adventure map. It's hard to keep track of everything and the more i add the laggier it gets. Thanks for checking this out.
