Information
On November 22, 1997, an early playable demo of Pokémon Gold and Silver was shown at Space World '97. Long considered lost treasures, on May 26, 2018 an anonymous user unexpectedly released ROMs of the elusive demos online. The ROMs themselves were built on November 15, 1997. A more in-depth explanation as to how these demos were first obtained can be read here.

- The Cutting Room Floor

Originally the Johto Region would literally be based on the entire area of Japan, ie Kanto would be a Big City and not a Region, and there were also several Prototype Cities that would be used in Future Games, but they decided to be inspired by the Japanese Regions of Kansai, Chūbu and the Island of Shikoku

All map information is on the website "The Cutting Room Floor"
